Lottery scam victims finally get $12.5M jackpot

They stole 12.5 million, they should pay 25 million. 12.5 restitution and 12.5 in payback. If they can't pay, put them in debtor's prision until someone pays. This would teach a lesson to all thieves. There should be payback for these crimes. These people are stealing fate not just money and that is just plain wrong.

Congrats to the winners finally getting whats rightfully due them.

But (mini rant here) Had the OLG listened to THIER OWN fraud investagators and denied Kathleen Chung the prize ( after she refused the lie detector test) it wouldn't have taken them 7 YEARS to find the true winners and saved $2,300,000 in intrest. ( which they probably won't get back from the Chungs) So that leaves lotto players in Ontario holding the bag.

On a side note since the police seized and froze thier assets I wonder where they managed to scrape up $ 700,000 in bail money

still no idea how they tracked down the 7 men. sure it was a stolen free play ticket. now if the 7 men played the samer numbers regularly, and had won prizes on the same numbers that where over $600 and needed  a tax form to be filed. then yeah i can understand why and how they where tracked.

i guess if my theory is correct, even tho the winning ticket was prob a quick pick as it was a free paly, the right to it was earned by the standard set of numbers these guys regularly played.

one more reason to stick to play yourown numbers.

My theory is they went back to the draw where the men won the free play and followed the trail from there

I took that line from the news story. I'm assuming the men contacted the lottery.

I think they knew something wasn't right.

Seven years?!?  I'm glad that finally got it!  Hope everyone will be smart with the winnings.
