Congrats to the winner. Big mistake going on the interview. Big mistake. Big. Mistake. Best of luck to him, cuz he's gonna need it.

    1.  It helps to pray to win a jackpot  <-- Lord knows the '11:11 make a wish' hasn't panned out for me yet. Thud

    2.  Quick Picks are the best choice to win a jackpot <-- 80% of my tickets are quick pick. winnings on about .8%.

    3.  Almost every store in the country is owned by somebody named Patel <-- I'll have to look harder for Patel behind the counter. Usually it's Jose or Juanita manning the register around these parts. Actually, the place I've won a little here and there has Patel's wife, her sister, and her mother working there.

Anyone know whatever happened to Geraldine Williams? Is she a success story? I'd like to think so. Thumbs Up

Don't fergit to get a ticket or two in Cut & Shoot now, Piaceri.

Is there a saloon there? Git em close to there if you can.

    I'll never forget old whats-his-name...

Not sure if I'll get over to Cut & Shoot any time soon. :\  Saloons have given way to Ice Houses. Not sure if I can tell the difference for the most part. I'll pay closer attention next time I'm over that way.

BTW, cheap and inexpensive are not the same.

Indeed.  I have a Huyandi Sante Fe Limited. Nicest car i've ever owned.  heated leather seats, 6 disc CD changer, entertainment package with a dropdown tv screen/dvd player and optional 3rd row seating, which they don't even offer anymore.  if I win the lottery tonight I doubt seriously I would trade it in for anything.

        Don't underestimate a Huyandi, it's a really good car!

ok, i will concede that i know nothing about the huyandi line of vehicles except that when they first came out back when late 80's or so they weren't highly regarded or somehow got the reputation of being a cheaply made car..apparently over the last 20 years they upgraded their product with some luxury models...afraid that this lottery winner should not be on the highway after viewing that interview. he seemed unaware so to speak about his situation...

Hope he realizes that his winnings "after taxes" are NOT $9.2 million.  After the standard 25% Federal withholding, he is still going to owe the Federal government another $1.34 million when he files his taxes, which legally he is required to do quarterly in this case.  This is why you don't come forward "hours after" learning you're a winner.  I feel terrible for this poor guy; it is almost a mathematical certainty that he will die penniless in the next 5 years.

yes, by all means get out of fall river the decadent old mill town should be in your rear view mirror of your huyndai? you should consider a cadillac escalade instead or something that will last longer than that cheaply made vehicle...

i'm sure the 9.2 million was after the taxes were taken out...if he hires a good accountant he will probably get a decent refund. no way does he owe any more taxes unless on interest earned in ensuing years...yes, he absolutely should hire a driver after viewing the video. the streets of that decadent old mill town wouldn't be safe with him driving around on them...

                        Altruistic! Party

Had to look that up, thanks!

Hopefully I can win the Mega Millions tonight so I don't have to worry about winning a second time in order to help out everyone I would like to with as much as I'd like to.

IT TAKES ONE COMBINATION TO WIN

He seems to be very thrifty with his money.HE WON WITH ONE QUICK PICK TICKET.HE JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME TO WIN WITH A SINGLE COMBINATION.GOOD LUCK TO THE WINNER.
