Thats true. Now I'll just write and complain about the price increase, which sucks. The only people that benefit from the price increase is the state lotterys.

If your state is like most states that are still selling MegaMillions, Pick6, Pick5 and other games for a dollar, they won't care what you think if they are selling plenty of PB tickets.  Not buying PB tickets will be more effective.

As long as there are people that lay down and accept being gouged by the lottery,or any entity for that matter, they will continue to gouge the public at will. How long will it be before MegaMillions looks at what Powerball did before they decide to follow suit? How long will it be before Powerball thinks that $2 per ticket isn't enough and decides to charge $5?The odds of winning didn't double, they are still astronomical against you winning, yet they did double the price.I don't know about you,but I'm on a fixed income and need to watch where my money goes.Maybe you have enough disposable income that a 100% increase in price means nothing, but I can't afford to double the money I spend on lottery and neither can millions of other people.I'll still play Powerball, just not as often and only when the jackpot is huge.

Did anyone else notice that they added the number "0" and the number "1" to the powerplay option?NEITHER of these two numbers will multiply a prize. When they first started the powerplay option they had the number "1,after a few months and I'm sure a lot of complaints they decided to drop the number "1"  from their RNG machine.I'm going to write to my state lottery and complain. You should do the same if you if you feel this is unfair. You might also mention that you don't like the RNG machine drawings of these numbers.

I'm retired and on a fixed income too and I spend a little on lottery tickets for entertainment too.  I don't buy the expensive ones and complain about their price, I only buy the ones that are reasonable priced for the risk I want to take.  Just because there is a market for $20 raffle and scratch-off tickets and $2+ a board lottery tickets doesn't mean I have to buy them.  If I can't afford them I don't buy them.

Well,I won't argue the point anymore.Suffice it to say that I don't like the "new" Powerball game at all.I will never like it.I will only play it when the jackpot reaches $100,000,000.We'll just have to agree to disagree on how great the "new" Powerball games is.

That's similar to the position I've taken too.

When Ohio replaced its Super Lotto game with Lot'O Play which had similar odds and payouts but cost $2 per play, I only played its last game when they decided to discontinue it and split the jackpot among the lower tier winners if no one won it.

PowerBall will have to sell enough tickets to have starting jackpots of $40M and increases of at least $10M after each drawing or they will have to make a similar decision and I'll be ready if they ever do.

What a shame that this, new prize amounts, first 2nd place winner hadn't used the PowerPlay mode in their ticket to instead win the NEW, exciting, $2M amount!!!

For a dollar more they could have doubled their win to $2,000,000; plus the distinction and honor of being the first second prize winner.  I Agree!
