$310 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot in rare territory

I use it in mixed company all the time.I like to see the look of confusion on the faces of women's libbers.Yes,their still out there babbling about how they can do anything a man can do.Anything but piss up a rope,that is.

Isn't it kind of rare to get a $300 million from one ticket? When the jackpot is that big, a lot more people throw their name in the hat.

 It almost never happened. Probably once or twice. I am not sure.

Actually if you exclude thiscurrent jackpot, it went over $300m 12 times and of those 12 - 50% (6) of those wins were by individuals or single ticket holders (accounting for instances where groups won)

 I saw his interview a couple of years ago and gave me the impression that he is not the sharpest guy in the bunch. Actually a lot of businessmen succeed with tenacity and guts, not much with intelligence.

Thanks. I did not know that! I assumed I just paid VA and federal taxes. So I understand then if you buy a ticket in DC (non resident), I have to pay the difference in the state tax rate (5% VA...DC is 8%)...so my "surcharge" is 3% more!  I will try to stick to buying tickets in Virginia now.

Funny thing is if you look at the high PB jackpots vs. the high MM jackpots the MM ones seem to be hit by multiple winners and the PB ones tend to be solo winners.
