Hasn't happened yet, but I have seen many "wise investments" fall through. With that much money I would be set for life afer 2 years and then some. You think I care about returns with that amount? No. I could put a year's worth in my huge vault in the house and still be set for life. Retruns are a hassle, also risky, and usually taxed. I would never spend this much money in many lifetimes. Sitting back and collecting the annuity is by far the best option for me. After $5 million the rest is bonus money to collect dust with. At least when you are a responsible buyer as I am. THAT'S WHAT I'M TAKING ABOUT!!!! When I hear people talking about investments my eyes kind of glaze over because I'm thinking aren't investments to make money? But I just won (if you win the jackpot) hundreds of millions!!! What do I need to invest for? Am I being naive? Shoot I'd take the annuity too!! This stuff about the government and high taxes blah blah blah, I'm like SO WHAT!!! Even if the taxes are high that's still a BIG check of money you didn't even work for/earn, a BIG check you would have never have gotten if you didn't win the lotto, you know what I mean? Lottery jackpot winners and financial advisors? I guess it's the thing to do because you see it all the time. I'm with you sirbrad, that first check would have me set for life indluding money I'd give to others, after that as you put the rest "collecting dust" lol | | |

Don't feel bad,I missed it by 6 numbers! I had 19 on half of my tix... saw 9 and 19 on one n started to get excited... only to b let down :-( *sigh* i think i got about 1/3 my money back all in all.. which is more than i expected!! I wish I may, I wish I might...

It's pretty wild to see my servers' network utilitization right now. It is pegged at 100%, meaning that every last bit of networking bandwidth is completely consumed with Internet traffic. It takes an awful lot of people to make that happen. Pretty nice that the sites are still run OK, despite the onslaught of people. Can't say the same for most government Web sites. The "official" Mega Millions site just says "Service Unavailable". Meanwhile, USA Mega is still going strong.
