Venom- I partially agree with you on your comment. It is indeed time consuming and wasterful to get a "complete" game plan together for "if you win the big jackpot". At the very least, any player especially those who are participating in Friday's MM drawing should get a preliminary plan together...nothing too intricate or extensive. That list should include: 1- Make photocopy and store winning ticket in safe place, preferably a ziplock bag in a safe deposit box at a bank. (I did not mention signing the back because you most likely will not be claiming the prize) 2- If you win THEN contact several attorneys (Tax, Corporate/trust), Financial advisors (many are CPA's) 3- Do not tell anyone other than your spouse(if your marriage is fine). After retaining an attorney you can inform your siblings and parents IF they are to be included in your trust or are made a partner in an LLC. 4- Wish list: Where you would like to live, vehicles you would want, people/charity you want to help, etc. Don't get too detailed. This is a very generic plan and it will definitely get much more complicated if/when you win. In the meantime, it doesn't hurt to dream a little Thank you Jill...hopefully someone here is lucky to win and do these things.... As for me ,i would be in shock for the first few days if i were to win..

Just 1 more day! No press conference when I claim ASAP....... and absolutely no pictures! Pennsylvania only requires name and town ............. It is easy to be obscure, if you do it right .............. do any of you know the name of the Billionaire that passed away in Texas last year ......................... Charles Wyly, I think he died in a car wreck.

Is MM doing hwat PB does when the record is broken they make the 2nd place prize a lot bigger like $25 million or something? But they also capped how much it raised I think.

Yeah even when I won the big 4 three times I thought there must be "some mistake" and I kept looking at my numbers and the ones on the screen for about an hour. I also expected the date to be wrong. I did not believe it until I went and got the thick envelope of cash.

I don't think I could let a winning ticket out of sight. I would probably have a safe installed in my house and personally guard it with my trusty tactical shotgun.

I have only seen negative press about 1 of Pennsylvania's "big" winners. The rest of them are living just fine after the hoopla died down .................... I will take my chances with this jackpot .............. nothing ventured, nothing gained! My Great-Grandfather came here with 1 piece of luggage and his dreams ................... and my Thunder (Grey/Blue) 2012 GTC awaits me and the gated community!

man this thing markets it self, ever news outlet got a side note about it if not full story. lottery ceo's could not be more happy then they are now, this is their dream in sells i like one part" Lottery directors from participating states will confer every day this week to determine if sales merit pushing the winnings projection higher, she said by phone Wednesday."
also, i love seeing all new players, am buying about 20-25 tickets my self for this draw, about same going out to movies/snack combo prices for me, so i don't feel its to much. Joshuacloak, I like your analogy on financing your MM ticket purchase. Too bad more people can't be that flexible when it comes to their budget.

We have a safe in our home so that is where I would hide my ticket IF I were to win. Our collection of hand guns and assault rifles would keep it company.

No doubt about letting a few jovial screams come out, imagine what you want to buy,who to give to, where you want to go, what kind of house to live in etc etc......but its not going take long to realize, "Now I have some serious work to do" and start the necessary process towards collection....Might be better to consider the age old statement, "Silence is Golden" the day you collect. Was just watching a CNN report about twenty minutes ago about the MM lottery mania. They also featured some advice and what pitfalls to watch out for, if joining a lottery pool! Very informative and interesting. Just got back from my favorite store to buy my "last"? 5 MM tickets. No lines...no waiting, strange? Must be the calm before the storm. Still say they will raise the jackpot one more time. Probably either later today or tomorrow morning. Should push pot to $600-650 million easily.
