$540 MILLION: Mega Millions buying frenzy sparks another jackpot increase

Very nice looking SUV , seen one of these yesterday .

With the gas prices , you wonder how the owner can

afford the fuel for it . $4.14 a gallon in my area .

Most new SUV's cost between $30,000 - $50,000

depends on what , you're looking for .

So far Lexus 300 , (SUV ) I like , but I been looking

at Acadia  , this MKX , and a few others .

I rode in a few other new SUV's which , I don't like

its  uncomfortable  ride  Traverse. 

I been researching SUV for along while . I am picky about

the way it looks , rides , and color.  There's not many choices

when it comes to color except for Lexus .

I'll keep looking .......

Ill be doing my mega mill shopping this morning for my group we got enough money together to buy 140 quick picks 14 people $10.00 each so i hoping to win something here in north Carolina.

And  i my self not done shpooing yet either :)

 That's the man from Florida , I think about when winning the lottery ,not  buying stupid stuff . He's dumb buying

  all that statues and whatever else , he wasn't buying what he needed . I thought 100% of things he had , I would Never

   buy .

     I keep reading people saying  " You will go broke in 5 years " not if you live on a budget yearly , a conservative

    amount , you will be fine . I read where winners from Idaho ( Brad Duke ) and several other winners who all lives

    on a budget  and they didn't go broke .

    Actually one winner spent $4 million dollars , in the first year , and still have millions  and living comfortable . 

   Not everyone is the same , just because those winners overspent , doesn't mean everyone will .

    You only read about the negitive stories , there are people with positive stories . 

    Live within your means  . 3 levels of savings ( years )  18 yrs old - 30 yrs old , 30 - 50 yrs old , 50 - 80 yrs old ( retirement ) .

    You put a percentage of $$$$$ for 3 levels . Work hard .

Most of the people I  have seen on TLC's "The Lottery Changed By Life" are doing pretty good after a few years. Positive stories are boring so people don't won't to here them. There are many winners who are still happy and rich today. I'm going to join that list tonight.

True, there are more good stories than bad. When reading the stories of lotteries winners who went broke

on the internet there is actually only a handful, maybe a little over a dozen stories, you keep reading and

pretty soon you'll run into the same story on different sites.

The thing is I went searching and ended up reading them back to back, had me thinking maybe

winning the lottery was not a good thing after all but I know better and learned from each and every

one of them on what NOT to do.

Three of my friends have won the Mega Millions separately over the past decade and they are all doing just fine and have their money. The one that I am closest to bought a half a million dollar house cash and a couple of six figure cars and lives off of $10,000 a month interest. One of the other ones lives a couple miles from my house and has a beautiful big home with an indoor pool on 10 acres with a pond and a large pole barn where he fixes boats and cars on the side, and he and his wife never quit their jobs. 

If you are not an idiot and establish a budget, you will be just fine, and stay away from strippers, cocaine and casinos. The first guy I mentioned split his winnings with another guy he worked with and he unfortunately did not avoid those things and well, he is broke now. 

this weekend will be intresting.

, can't wait to find out how many tickets won,and where they at,so i can rofl at media dog and pony show that is sure to follow 

thro it will be funny sense its won 2 days before april fools happens  and before lottery office gets to open on monday.

Good advice Venom. Yeah coke & casinos usually don't mix to well in keeping your money intact. Diet coke is more my speed.   

Hmm, I don't think it's the same. The guy I'm thinking of married his high-school sweetheart, went in on a hotel with some stranger and then funded a family members idea for a plumbing part. He now (or at least at the time of the show) had to work miles from his family because, as he believes, nobody wants to give him work in his hometown because they're jealous he won and blew it.

I'm glad others are mentioning the annuity. I'm a "Cash Option" person but I went ahead and got an annuity option QP (back in TX for a bit so have to choose at the register).

I saw that one. He basically blew most of everything on this business venture, with some fangled plumbing device that was supposed to

revolutionize the industry. The only thing it revolutionized was his bank balance. His family, at least at the time of the shows airing resented

him big time. He was working a couple of jobs last I heard, to make ends meet.

any good major winner, should  see the horror stories for them self's, as "research" on ever thing not to do

promise anything to anyone

never ever invest in people u don't trust 100% 

and if u get found out

don't have a addres  people can find,or mail stuff to, as u get 100s if not 1000s of letters of requests

also people won't treat u the same, deal with it.

when super rich jackpot winners come out to their poor friends.
