Hello everyone, I'm a newbie :) just wanted to say, glad to be a part of the community, and best of luck to everyone!
I also agree, that the cash option I think is way better, since one could form a Family Foundation, set yourself up as Trustee, and Ceo, everything would be tax free, including interest(except for personal salary).
I have been crunching a few numbers, and what I have been able to decipre, is that the Mega Millions game is selling around $265,000,000 (million tickets) in the last couple of days (does NOT include the extra buck for the megaplier). That would mean that I wouldn't doubt that there will indeed, be multiple winners, don't be too surprised if you find out that the Jackpot will be split five (5) ways.
Since record Jackpots have traditionally been shown to have multiple winners.
In addition, the odds are showing that overall you have a better odds of winning more of the Jackpot, if you played games that are around $200 million.
Since statistics seem to favor that the hit Jackpots, payout an average percentage. Of course nothing is ever written in stone lol!

Tyvm, and the same to you... :) Either way, win or lose, it's a moment in which everyone can have to dream about, even if it's just for a short time. And besides, as much as I'd like to win, I could imagine that my conscience would probably also remember that for every dollar I won, it was someones dream too. Yea I know, talk about being a buzz killer lol!

Honestly I am shocked no one has won the tue draw, if i had the money and if i was in usa i am definately winning the tue non winning draw, very fact no one has won this alone tells me no one in the world knows the technique i am aware of to win or pick winning drawing numbers...... i am in new zealand and relying on agents to play my numbers, they charge almost 8 dollars per block and 16 dolalrs for the megaplier board. I had chosen 46 boards with agents on tue, and although on all boards i have 51 correct, and not far from the other mumbers i am foccussing close, but if someone knows that there is a technique to pick winning numbers no matter how a draw is taking place, the secret on guessing the winning numbers is based on unique guess work and there is no mathmatics, however when one is combining some chosen numbers and need to group them mathematics plays a role. any way i am still attacking the game on friday with a few boards, to be honest the placing of numbers for friday is quite hard to make a guess work, on tue i was dead certain 51 was a no. and it was so, the other numbers i was dead certain was 24/30/36 just one of them to match with 34/35/40 just one of them, again then to match with 8/9/10/11/15/16 just one of them and again 19/20/21/22 just one of them and 37/38/43/44/45/46/47/48/etc mathemathically grouping the numbers in to initially blocks of 6 numbers, further again taking all the combinations of 5 numbers from the 6 no. block and using the 6th no. as the MB i am winning the jackpot if i was in USA for a huge sum to invest in the game, as one can observe above there are so many boards to play to finally win the guess work i had concluded where i was aware only no 51 is certain however i am chosing 10 numbers to play them on reduced wheeling for 6 blocks of 5 numbers.. lets see how it goes, should i hit the jackpot then it is not by luck but with brains, i suppose i get an opportunity to come to states if i hit the jackpot and if i come on tv i will talk a bit of this site and my lotto keno experience where i always win with brains and not with luck. my strong guess is: in the first 10 numbers: there are some or just one number, and the rest makes no sense mentioning as then when many share nothing is left.... hope to be in states soon for my jackpot.. world champion lotto keno player skype kaitas6 mnetioning lotto keno numbers finally is a peice of cake once i explain the technique, and i am dead certain i am the only living soul in the world that knows it as no one guessed the jackpot of MB on tuesday.. a shame.... if i would put it..... USA is missing genius skype kaitas 6 in USA

There is a way to pick the correct numbers. Almost every game out of 6 sets of numbers, I have picked all of the drawn numbers, but I have only matched three in a line at best.
I'm narrowing the process down, little by little, if it stays the way it's going then great, perhaps I'll win, if not oh well, I'll keep trying anyhow lol!

The best part of this jackpot is it shows up all the hypocrites and liars out there that always make stupid comments about the lottery is a tax on the poor and the stupid etc etc. I am not hearing any of that right now. Every single person including the major and not so major media outlets are out there telling people to buy.

Lol,to the above poster, your correct, even I am a critic of the lottery, it doesn't stop me from playing it though.
It's not so much the idea, of people wanting a better life, when the risk is just a dollar, I think it has much more to do with, the States collecting so much revenue from the continued sales of the game of chance, and then most of the States collect taxes on the Jackpot winning, (although some States do not have State tax on lottery winnigns) the federal government for the most part always collects the tax.
Btw, just moments ago, I went to my State lottery website, they are running a promo for 12 months, each month they draw 100 winners each worth $50.00. Just so happen I just found out, I actually won one of the $50.00 draws lol! go me!!! (That's the most I have ever won playing the lottery).

Congrat's gordianknot! $50 is a tidy sum. Thank you, I wish it were enough to share with everyone.... maybe a little conversion to a bigger game might be in order lol! [edit] Yea the kewl thing about the promo, is you can win multiple times in the same drawing, I can hardly imagine how many times someone enters to win 4-5 times each month.... alot of work.
[edit, the edit] - lol! I just noticed, another person that has enetered the second chance drawings for the last 7 of 8 months, she has won a total of 27 wins, amounting to $1,350.00 Bet she uses alot of stamps lol. I sent 16 entries, so I came out to the good.

Hmm, I don't think it's the same. The guy I'm thinking of married his high-school sweetheart, went in on a hotel with some stranger and then funded a family members idea for a plumbing part. He now (or at least at the time of the show) had to work miles from his family because, as he believes, nobody wants to give him work in his hometown because they're jealous he won and blew it. Yeah, I know what guy you're talking about now... He was kinda sorta a schmuck. You can't predict random.

If people win a multi-million lottery jackpot, they should try to think that they only have about 30% of their winnings available. From that they should treat it as a budget just like any other income. Never exceed ones debt beyond 30% of that amount. So if they win $100 million after taxes, it would be wise, to have the mentality that they only can access $30 million of it, and of that amount debts should never exceed more than 30 percent or $5 million in debt.
Of course people are going to do what they want, instead of what they need.

I was kind of hoping that they would do it this time around.
Also I think, that the States should make a policy change for unclaimed Jackpot prizes, some States, will take the monies from unclaimed tickets and put it into a second chance drawing, or other promotion. Yet other States will simply take it and use it for the purpose in which they started the lottery to fund.
I would like to see that the States, even those that take it and use for the State lottery purposes, put a cap on the amounts that they can seize if unclaimed, for example if a Jackpot is valued at $50 million or less, sure seize it, but anything higher should be given back out to players of that State.
