The thing that I actually hate when it gets this high is that, when I wake up the morning of each drawing, I actually think I can win it. For some reason my mind feels the need to think it's a winner just because nobody else has won in a long time. | | |

New here. Since the jackpot is over 300 million, thought I'd post and share. Just bought my tickets for this Wednesday's $305 million drawing. Got 500 lines, so $1,000 worth. $2 per line. I obviously don't normally play this much for a drawing but I feel lucky and the high jackpot amount got me to open the wallet. I'm probably a fool but I REALLY want to win this jackpot. What's the old saying, "You can't win if you don't play" or something like that. About $150,000,000 after taxes sounds good to me. I'd buy a lakefront mansion, a fleet of fancy cars, vacations to maui, fiji, bahamas, etc... I might even look into buying a gulfstream jet in the range of $5-10 million (used) And I would donate to charities as well. I have seen past winners go broke so I have planned against that when I win. I will spend a few million right off the bat to get it "out of my system" and then put the rest in tax free bonds and have it managed with a private bank of professional money managers whom I'm sure would roll out the red carpet for a client like me with over $100 million in cash. I wish you all luck but at the same time REALLY hope the winner this Wednesday is me.

Best of luck to you hotslot. Welcome to LP! There have been many members on this site who have "invested" similar amounts and more, when jackpots started climbing into the stratosphere. I'm certainly not going to discourage you from making that wager, I admire your willingness to put that much on the line. To my knowledge however, I don't remember any of those members getting much of anything for hits, it was pretty much a big goose egg. As long as your able to lose it all, without any financial repercussions, you should be just fine. I'm glad I'm not that crazy yet. On the other hand, if you can spend $1000 on tickets, why would you want a jackpot win? On the other hand, somehow I doubt in the trustworthiness of this post. As if it was true, you'd know that for $1000 you'd get 600 lines in august. Another thought, are you a lottery agent, who wants to instigate enormous sales by showing what to spend to the bunch of lottery addicts? | | |
