So, did you make the drive ? sounds like your casino luck would be a 2nd reason, a 3rd reason is, its always nice to get out of the city and drive the desert, how far is it ? At what casino did you win the $900 ? No..... I didn't take the drive as work got in the way. Ft McDowell casino is practically inside the Fountain Hills city limits.

So are we to understand that he/she turned in the valid signed ticket, completed the paperwork, but will collect the check at a later date when he/she is better prepared? This recent behavior seems inconsistent with the guy on camera who was practically begging people to participate in his Show and Tell. Of course sound advice of experts could have settled him down. Hmmmm.... You have the option of reading the story and coming to your own conclusion or waiting for Arizona to release more information as soon as they have verified every thing. * The fundamentals of winning a lottery jackpot * * play a lottery you can win *

What a shame and an awful lot of planning if it indeed was a joke. He sure had me fooled as I couldn't fathom someone going to that extent. Doctoring a local ticket is one thing but to get one several thousand miles away within a matter of hours takes the cake. The guy never gave out his name so his fame will be short lived. I am just perplexed as to why the state worker and his colleagues would go through all this? Don't assume the state worker and his colleagues tried to trick anyone into thinking he won. The media, not him or his coworkers released store footage thinking he might have won the other half of the jackpot. As you stated he never gave out his name or searched for any kind of publicity unlike that McD's worker. So we'll have to wait and see who the winner is once he comes forward.

Actually, I thought the man in the yellow work outfit was sincere and legitimate. Someone else stated that it was a hoax. You are correct that the media glorified this scenario and not the HWY worker which is why it just didn't make any sense to me.

You mean the beautiful and talented Ms. Mirlande Wilson. Ms. Wilson was a clown seeking her 15 minutes of fame. The HWY worker was the total opposite as he never alerted the media or demand a press conference with an attorney.
He reacted in the same manner most normal folks would and not in the calm and collected manner which many here claim (splitting a 588Million jackpot will unleash any self control one may have).

Just heard on the news that the construction/HWY worker seen on the surveillance tape is a Maryland resident who earlier this year was charged with fraud. What is it with Maryland and these folks who somehow feel entitled to a jackpot they they obviously didn't win

Hi All, I read you comments on a daily basis and find them very amusing. I faithfully go to this website everyday:) Just wanted to add that the winner is in his 30s and married. Clearly, not the MD gentleman. I think it was the media's fault for hyping this up and possibly putting this man life in danger. he very well could have one $1M and that's enough to excite anyone. So, do you think the new winner was already wealthy because homes in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley are in the millions?
