Being a clerk is an entry level job for people who have no skills.

"There is also a positive correlation between someones tipping habits and how much they give to charity and the less fortunate which to me says much about someones character." Is that something you made up like so many posters do to try and impress someone or was it from a survey done by a reliable research organization? Point well taken. I can provide sources based on empirical research and observations but I digress. This forum is for lottery related issues and not proper social etiquette topics. Good luck to you sir in your lottery endeavours this week and happy new year.

All clerks should be working toward getting a BETTER job. NOT asking for hand outs.
the fact that the nh clerk made a mistake and it resulted in a big win for the customer and that customer benefited by that mistake does not obligate him to "tip" him. no, you shouldn't "tip" a clerk for selling a ticket, however in this case his "blunder" is the only reason he won. therefore compensation for that blunder or mistake is warranted. the clerk didn't ask for and no one knows if he actually received anything at all for this. if you buy a lottery ticket and the transaction goes smoothly without a mistake don't tip if you win. this case is a different matter. it should work out for the winner and the seller. not equally of course, but a few hundred out of a million is warranted.

The clerk DID NOT have anything to do with him winning! It was PURE LUCK,nothing else.Geeze, give it a freaking rest!!! Well you are an %$$&#@%,so that makes you as dumb as a post, too.Massachusetts is the most liberal state in the union so that tells me a lot about you.I can walk out of a restaurant without leaving a tip and feel pretty good about myself because most resaurants charge enough money for a meal to feed two or three people. The cheap people are the ones that own the restaurants and don't pay their help a living wage and depend on idiots to give tips to their waitresses.Seems like YOU are the stupid one to me.I wish you would win a jackpot so I could make some money betting on how long it takes for you to go broke handing out money to people who don't deserve it.We call people like you CHUMPS!
