If that be the case..why ask? Just order the lottery commision not to do it. Winning the lottery there should give you that clout.

It's also a lot more realistic than these inflated annuity jackpots. If only PB and MM modified their payout the same way
If it were a company I'm sure the government would have stepped in a long time ago and enacted some sort of "truth in advertising" law and put a stop to telling people they won TWICE what they actually won.

Advertising actual cash prize after taxes? I think I like the idea! So, will the advertised jackpot be different in each state according to the state tax rate? Or are they just talking federal taxes?

So, will the advertised jackpot be different in each state according to the state tax rate? Or are they just talking federal taxes? Fun speculation math. However, gamblers should presume that it is only the state gambling/income tax % and the 1st of 2 federal gambling/income tax of 25% (recipient would end up having the high, additional apx. 14% donation deductions or federal gambling/income taxes to pay them self at a much later date, after receiving the funds into personal checking/investment account via electronic transfer). Thus, you'd be netting essentially the same amount as most of our states' on-line lotteries that have an annuity advertised starting jackpot of $2M (pre-lump sum deduction % and state & fed gambling/income taxes). partial Having millions of dollars in my financial accounts means more, consistent fun for me.

Congrats to your friend on winning $16 million. Curious, you mentioned she won it a couple weeks ago. There hasn't been a $16 million lotto won in the past 8 months. She did play the Florida Lotto right?
