Ironically enought its your class of people (the one that spend insane amount of their earnings on lottery) that this goes to help. You guys are complaining of being taxed of the millions you haven't won and have one in over 170 million chance of wining? Are you kidding me? Talk about pure delusion. Cut down on the Fox News and go outside or travel a bit. Stop demonizing the segment of a population you or some in your family unknowingly represent. The rich laughs while delusional poor fights on their behalf. I have news for you. Many people despise the class warfare (labeling rich people as "greedy", etc.) because they believe that in America, success should never be punished or derided. Even though most people will never reach the 1%, that doesn't mean that there should be a mob mentality of trying to take all of the money acquired by the people who have reached that success. That's what socialist governments do, not governments of free people. Your comment basically says that because you or I will never be one of the 1%, we should not defend their right to keep their money. My reply to you is that I would strongly defend their right to keep their money, because nobody should be subject to that kind of treatment in America. In this country everyone is treated the same. At least they should be. In a free society there is equal opportunity, not equal outcomes. | | |

And I would add that the vast majority of the people who have reached that success have done so spending their lives (and sometimes generations of lives) producing the goods and services (along with the capacity to deliver those goods and services) that most of the rest of us enjoy using on a daily basis.
