INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Hoosier Lottery drawings are back on the air in Indiana. The Hoosier Lottery and FOX59 in Indianapolis are conducting a statewide talent search to cast on-air draw talent for soon-to-be on the air Daily 3 and Daily 4 live TV drawings.
Those interested in representing the Lottery are encouraged to submit auditions online at hoosierlottery.com or FOX59.com.
"The Hometown Host contest is a great way for budding celebrities or adult journalism students to represent a Hoosier institution and gain great experience," said Jessica Powell, Vice President of Marketing for the Hoosier Lottery.
The deadline to submit an audition is August 2 at midnight. On or after August 3, Hoosier Lottery officials will narrow the field to the top 20 finalists and the public will be invited to vote for their favorite entry at hoosierlottery.com and FOX59.com. The top five finalists will then be invited to audition live in front of an audience at the Indiana State Fair before a panel of local celebrity judges.
The Hometown Host winner will be expected to step into the role when Daily 3 and the Daily 4 live ball drawings begin airing around the state early this fall.
Currently, Powerball drawings air Wednesday and Saturday nights at 10:59 p.m. Mega Millions drawings air Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:00 p.m. Both air on FOX59 in central Indiana but will begin airing throughout the state in the next few weeks.
"The decision to reinstitute televised live drawings comes from listening to Hoosiers and Hoosier retailers, and putting that feedback into action with something they overwhelmingly said they want," said Karl Browning, Executive Director of the Indiana State Lottery Commission.
The Hoosier Lottery was established by the will of the people in 1989, and distributions benefit Hoosiers all across the state with millions of dollars reinvested in police, firefighters and teachers' pensions, and in significantly reducing vehicle-owners' excise taxes.
Go Hoosiers
You should audition for that job, helpmewin!
i already have a job
I agree. It would be a career vs. a job and likely fun and entertaining as well.
I will call them on Monday
Yay!
Don't forget to ask If you can still play If you get the job.
Nooo! Remember the epi where Natalie got a job as the on-air lottery girl and Monk had to save her from being murdered? Noooo!
I'm confused! What are they looking for. What kind of talent do you need to press a button.
was thinking the same thing...actually all lotteries should have common folk draw the balls to ensure there is no bias
OH I forgot about that! Helpmewin is on a winning stretch.
Personality, poise, presence...you would be amazed at the people who cannot act on camera.
