As part of an effort to promote the multi-state Powerball game on a national level, 18 states are participating in a new promotion to send lottery players to a special NFL fan festival attended by several players in the NFL Hall of Fame.

Winners in the Powerball Pro Football Hall of Fame trip will be treated to a 5 day/4 night trip to Cleveland, Ohio for the Ultimate Tailgate Party and Pro Football Hall of Fame's Fan Festival. The event will occur May 1-5, 2014.

The trip includes round trip airfare for the winner plus three guests, hotel accommodations for four (two rooms), meals, ground transportation, admission to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Fan Festival, Pro Football Hall of Fame and Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, as well as admission to the Powerball winners only Ultimate Tailgate Party event.

Participation and specific rules will vary by state, so lottery players should review the entry instructions on the Web site of their state lottery. A list of official state lottery Web sites can be found on Lottery Post's Lottery Links page.

"We're excited to offer Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball players a chance to huddle with their football heroes and fellow sports fans," said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci. "Winners will be able to mingle with more than 100 Hall of Fame inductees at the festival's Ultimate Tailgate Party."

To be eligible to enter, players must purchase a minimum $10 ticket for Powerball by Feb. 3, 2014. Players may enter once for each qualified purchase.

The purchase of $10 or more can include any combination of plays on a single ticket, such as multiple wagers for the same drawing, wagers for future drawings (as available) or adding the Power Play feature.

The number of winners will vary by state.

Each winner will receive a prize valued at approximately $15,000, which includes airfare to Cleveland, hotel accommodations for four people, ground transportation and $500 in spending money.

At the Ultimate Tailgate Party, winners will have an opportunity to win cash prizes ranging between $1,000 and $1 million.

In addition to the anniversary celebration and tailgate party, winners and their guests will also enjoy entry to attractions including the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

The 18 states participating in the Ultimate Tailgate Party promotion are: Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, and West Virginia.

I was just in Cleveland last week, and really enjoyed it.  For lottery players (gamblers), you will love the huge new Horseshoe Casino right in the middle of town.  The weather should be beautiful in May too.

Ohio has used a similar promotion for some of its other games for years but when over half of Ohioans are within a two hour drive of Canton and the football hall of fame, it's a nice day or overnight trip for fans with a couple of hundreds dollars to spend.

They don't care either, don't pay attention to baseball anymore.

Not much of a prize in my opinion. I'd like to see a Superbowl Tailgate party, along with tickets to the big game. After the big game, 2 rounds of golf.

Not in Feb 2014 because the game will be held at Giants Stadium in NJ (it's going to be cold).

Feb 2015 the Superbowl will be held in Glendale, AZ. Great weather and plenty of good golf.

Give me the cash value of the prize, so I can make my own arrangements. Not much of a prize for a lottery that rakes in billions.

Thats what they should of done. SB tickets in Luxury box seats. The Pro bowl in Hawaii would of been another great choice. Love FB, but this does'nt interest me and won't enter.

I don't know about this game...

I just have this haunting feeling that if I won the Grand Prize, they'd say there was some kind of mixup and I would be getting a Barry Manilow Tote Bag instead.

Whatever on this nfl stuff.  The best promotion is to get that lottery to 300+ million so the news will start covering it.  Another powerball busted out at 120 million and back to 40 million land.  The naysayers said PB was going to blow by MM right?  It couldn't do it in the last several draws.  I think alot of the regulars play the one thats the highest at the moment every week.

Lets see if MM can pick it up big next week now that PB has tanked again.  Lets go!Big Grin Santa

Derby weekend!  What a great time to be up there.   You have not imply the NFL football hall of fame but college football hall of fame in Canton.
