NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The president and CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corp. is being recognized by a leading lottery trade organization with an award named after her.

According to the lottery, the "Rebecca Hargrove Award for Mentorship" is given in recognition of an individual's "generous spirit that supports the wise and responsible development of the next generation of lottery industry leaders."

Hargrove also is the first recipient of the award from the Public Gaming Research Institute.

Institute CEO Paul Jason said in a news release that Hargrove is a "legend in the lottery industry."

Hargrove began her career directing the Illinois Lottery and later led successful lottery startups in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. The Tennessee Lottery has generated more than $2.8 billion for education programs since it began in 2003.

Yes, the Dragon Lady is a gem, or as they said, "a legend in the lottery industry."

Because nobody would have ever wanted to play a lottery in all those states if she hadn't personally talked them into it.

Heh,heh,heh,heh,heh....

Giving her an award because people like to gamble would make as much sense as giving our President a Nobel Peace Prize.

Oh, wait....

To name an award after her and make her the first recipient sounds fishy to me.  Wonder if she got a "cash" award to go with it?  Sounds like another corporate way to enrich a CEO.

You have got to be kidding me !!!!  The tennessee lottery has gotten to be a joke. You can never win with this computerized rigged draw. Thanks to Hargrove no one plays the daily draw games anymore.  It is time she moved on Smile

The only award she deserves is a swift kick in the AZ Green laugh

Well now i know why it's called the Volunteer State. Each resident was nice enough to contributed about 450$ in 2013 and probably won nothing.

Tennessee Education Lottery is a good name for it.

Cuz most players get educated by getting skunked so often by the Dragon Lady's phony computer drawings that they now play in neighboring states.

Fire breathe lady wins an award and 3 days later someone from TN wins the states first MM jp. I can see how a conspiracy theorist can get excited at this turn of events. Not me. I'm too lazy for that. I just drink my Corona Extra beers and watch everything unfold.

four4me,

If you encounter a crazed woman banging on your door about 3 AM...

...don't open it.

The Dragon Lady will find you...

As usual just like a country preacher she turned it around in her favor blamed the people who installed the software then gave out some bonus money and a few other gimmys. She never owned up to anything during the whole ordeal. Instead they gave her a big bonus at the end of the year.
