What a great price was paid by past generations, the rich and the poor, privileged and exploited.
Who ever said America's exceptionalism is a myth, because "we did not build it" has been out of touch with the historical significance of this great nation, we call America.

Happy Fourth of July, Independence Day everyone. Was watching some shows on our independence and makes me very grateful being an American, in spite of our political discourse. I feel very patriotic and think about how great America is and think of everything I take for granted. I cannot imagine what life would be if it is destroyed.
Today will be a bbq with family. Hope everyone has a nice, safe holiday.
And let's have a Mega Millions winner today on this great holiday.

Happy birthday America!
Had a block party to meet the neighbors, drank half a bottle of Middle Sister Sweet & Sassy moscato, got a lead on a part-time bookkeeping job with a start up. Made a pact with the neighbors to do a 7 day veggie/fruit diet (the moscato was talking, I think). Granted, all my neighbors were the same ages as my kids, but hey I'm young at heart.
And yes, I was the oldest there.
Oh! And I found out my next door neighbor is an Iraq and Afghanistan vet. I thanked him for his service, and he thanked me for paying taxes so he could do what he did. Ha! I have neighbors here from Spain, Mexico City, Georgia, and Florida. Happy birthday America! Home of the free, home of the brave.
