The Wyoming Lottery Corporation today kicked off a comprehensive, statewide, multimedia marketing campaign as part of the countdown toward the initial sale of lottery tickets in Wyoming on August 24.

The "Get Ready to Play" campaign launches today, July 23, across Wyoming in a number of mediums, from traditional print and broadcast advertising, to digital efforts. Television and radio ads focus on the quest to catch the elusive jackpotalope — a creature that's worth millions and described as part jackalope, part jackpot and 100 percent Wyoming.

"We want to generate excitement among Wyoming residents about being able to play two national lottery games that have massive jackpots and offer chances to win four nights a week, all right here in our state," said Jon Clontz, the Wyoming Lottery's Chief Executive Officer. "Wyoming's chance to play is coming just a month from now on August 24."

As part of its initial marketing push, the Wyoming Lottery Corporation signed on as a platinum sponsor of the 2014 Cheyenne Frontier Days, which runs July 18- 27 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Today, July 23, the Wyoming Lottery will be highlighted as an official sponsor of CFD, the world's largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration.

At least now Wyoming residents don't have to go out of state to play some PowerBall & MM quick picks and lose. They can do that in the comfort of their neighborhood.

Under 1,000,000 people? wow. If one player matches 5 white balls with PP their lottery will be in deficit.

I wish them great success.

As of 2012, Wyoming's population was 576,412. Wow, some of the smallest mid sized cities in America have a bigger population then that of the entire state of Wyoming.  I don't know how they are going to be able to make the lottery work there. I wonder how much research did Wyoming put into this before deciding to go ahead with it?

Maybe they can make it work anyway.  It is possible that the people who go to the Indian casinos will throw their money this way too.

I am thinking that maybe next month, I should drive the 100 or so miles just to buy a ticket in Wyoming, just because.

They are going to increase their chances of winning without facing other random events.Your odds of getting hurt while buying a lottery ticket are higher than winning.
