Monopoly Millionaires' Club

Triggers 14 additional $1 million prizes

By Todd Northrop

The Monopoly Millionaires' Club jackpot of $21 million was won in Friday night's drawing of the multi-state game by one ticket sold in New Jersey.

The fact that the jackpot was won triggered the award of an additional 14 $1 million winners.

One lucky player in New Jersey matched all five numbers plus one Property number in the Nov. 7 drawing, earning the ticketholder a Top Prize of $21 million.  The lucky New Jersey ticket was purchased from Highland General Store, Inc. 111 Highland Lakes Rd., Highland Lakes in Sussex County.

The resulting Millionaires' Club drawing also netted million dollar winners in Arizona, Washington, D.C., three in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Missouri, three in New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas. Friday's winning Monopoly Millionaires' Club numbers were 1, 9, 11, 12, and 27, with Property Number 18, B&O Railroad.

The complete list of winning numbers and $1 million Millionaires' Club winning numbers can be found on Lottery Post's Lottery Results page, by clicking any state that participates in the Monopoly Millionaires' Club game.

Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director said, "How appropriate that New Jersey, home of the iconic Atlantic City locations upon which the Monopoly game was created, sold the first Monopoly Millionaires' Club lottery game Top Prize winning ticket.  I look forward to placing the emblematic top hat on the winner's head when he or she comes into Lottery headquarters to claim the prize."

The Monopoly Millionaires' Club lottery game debuted October 19. Its unique play style features three ways to win $1 million. Players can win the Top Prize that is capped at $25 million. Once that Top Prize is won, a separate drawing that awards a minimum of 10 Millionaires' Club prizes of $1 million each is conducted. Each week the Top Prize is not won, the number of $1 million prizes increases.

Players will also have a shot at a $1 million prize on the upcoming national primetime Monopoly Millionaires' Club TV show, which will debut in February. The show will feature an audience of players who have been randomly selected after completing MONOPOLY-themed Property Sets by entering the webcodes from their tickets at www.playmmc.com.

Selected players will be flown to Las Vegas where the show will be taped, and will receive a five-day, four-night stay for two plus spending money in Las Vegas. Billy Gardell, star of "Mike & Molly," will serve as the host of the show.

The Monopoly Millionaires' Club lottery game drawings are Fridays at 11:15 p.m. Eastern Time and tickets are $5 each.

Monopoly Millionaires' Club draw tickets are available in 22 states plus Washington, D.C.  More participating states are scheduled to be included within the next months.

Yes indeed- just you wait until this game arrives on the West Coast, then talk of it being " rigged" will begin in earnest.

congrats to the NJ winner. Given that there are 23 states in this game,at this time, it's good news for the other winners as well.

It was good to see that someone won the jackpot without the thing rolling over a dozen times.  On a side note, I am entering the webcodes for the Las Vegas show and I almost feel like the system is set up to keep you from getting a monopoly.  I am one property away from a monopoly for each property set (excluding the utilities) and every time I buy a ticket I get a duplicate property and the bonus happens to be one of the property I already own.

I hope other people are having better luck with this aspect of the game.

Gatorsrok, there is extensive discussion of this aspect of the game in the Discussion section of the forums. LottoMetro did a great calculation of how much you'd need to spend, based on the odds, to accumulate a certain amount of entries into the game show drawing.

The one thing I can tell you is that the randomly-assigned properties on the actual tickets seem to be very close to the 1 in 28 odds you'd expect (you can derive that by looking at a winners' list from a participating state of who won with the property, vs. without it).

As far as the bonus property each ticket gets when the webcode is entered -- I have no idea. You'd assume it is the same 1 in 28 odds. But there's no way to prove it for sure. The good thing, if you decide to keep playing, is the properties themselves never expire until you form a "Monopoly" and get the corresponding number of entries into the drawing. Your duplicates (or more) will stay on your board indefinitely. But any entries you accumulate through the 11/25 deadline for the first game show draw will go into that draw, and not be carried over to the next drawing period.

That said, it certainly would be interesting to hear if others who have bought that many tickets are experiencing something similar to you.

Does anyone know if Monopoly will be added to the usamega page with mega millions and powerball?  I have given up on this game after seeing what everybody else stated what would happen when the jackpot was won (the states that sell the most tickets would have the most $1 million winners which would be NY, CA, TX, FL)!!!  Guess what you'll see when California joins???  I have 65 entries for the 1st drawing; got my fingers crossed.  Otherwise, this sucker has been sucked out!!!

Canyon, if you don't want to reply to this, no worries. But out of curiosity, how many tickets did you buy to reach 65 entries?

(as for your question, I have no idea. I do think they need to improve the playmmc website to show a national winners' list, ala the MegaMillions and Powerball sites.)

Hello,

Try buying a ticket in a different area.  I keep getting the same one but decided to buy one in an area I do not visit often.  I got Marvin Gardens from a grocery store and Penn Ave.

En ReVal

I have 37 entries and have spent $55.   I got 15 entries from my 1st initial property of Short Line.  There are certain properties that trigger bonus entries.

En ReVal, I realize this should really be in the other thread, but since I am so new here I suspect I am still not allowed to post any links without my account getting zapped. In any case, based on the calculations contained in that thread -- you've done really well! You should only have about 22 or so entries total (including your nice 15 pt. Community Chest bonus) based on the number of tickets you've bought. 37 entries for buying only 11 tickets is great. Best of luck in the drawing.

(ps.. I don't think it matters where you buy the tickets, in terms of what random property you get)

How ironic NJ won since the US board game version is based around Atlantic City.

The reason the states you listed (NY, CA, TX & FL) have the most winners is because they have the most people!

More people means more tickets are sold in those states, which means more winners in those states.

NY, CA, TX & FL are the top four states in the country in terms of population.

As of 2013 the top four states are:

CA has 38.3 million people

TX has 26.4 million

FL has 19.6 million

NY has 19.5 million
