Lottery players across the nation will be celebrating the holiday weekend with parades, picnics, and Powerball.

No one correctly matched all six numbers in Wednesdays Powerball drawing, driving the jackpot to an estimated $140 million. Thats the largest current lottery jackpot in the world and the 8th largest Powerball jackpot ever.

The cash option for the Saturday, August 30 drawing will be an estimated $72.7 million.

There were no jackpot winners Wednesday but 713,248 Powerball players across the nation won a total of more than $6.2 million in prizes in Americas Game.

The numbers drawn were: 24, 31, 36, 42, 46, and the Powerball was 32. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

Eleven players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The winning tickets were sold in Arizona, Delaware, Indiana (2), Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Wisconsin. The winning South Carolina player purchased the Power Play option. By spending the extra dollar, that player multiplied their prize by 5 for a total win of $500,000!

Forty-one players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Four of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $25,000.

More than 63,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 5 Wednesday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that nights multiplier.

This current jackpot run started with the Saturday, July 19 drawing. Wednesday night was the 12th consecutive draw without being hit. More than 5.2 million Powerball players across the nation have won a total of almost $41.6 million in cash prizes since this jackpot run started.

Players purchased more than 29 million tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

The lotteries sold $1.6 billion in Powerball tickets in 2002. That translates into more than $480 million for worthwhile state projects.

Powerball is now played in 24 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Wednesday nights draw took place in Denver, Colorado. Saturdays drawing will be hosted live at the Taste of Colorado festival in Denver.
