PowerballPowerball: Powerball Jackpot Soars to $190 Million

Fourteen Powerball players across the nation were just one ball shy of winning the world's largest current lottery jackpot Wednesday night. The ball those players were missing was the Powerball.

Powerball is the most exciting and well-known lottery game in the world, just ask the nearly one million players that collected cash prizes Wednesday night.

There were no jackpot winners but 930,975 players across the nation won a total of more than $7.7 million in prizes in America's Game.

Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Wednesday's drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $190 million. That would rank as the 6th largest Powerball jackpot ever.

This current jackpot run started with the Wednesday, September 3 drawing. The drawing on Wednesday night was the 15th consecutive draw without being hit. More than 7.2 million Powerball players across the nation have won a total of almost $65 million in cash prizes since this jackpot run started in early September.

The cash option for the Saturday, October 25 drawing will be an estimated $99 million.

The numbers drawn were: 3, 25, 27, 28, 53 and the Powerball was 35. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

Fourteen players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The tickets were sold in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut (2), Delaware, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania (2), and West Virginia. None of the winning players purchased the Power Play option. If they had spent an extra dollar, those players would have multiplied their prize by 5 for a total win of $500,000.

Sdventy-five players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Seven of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $25,000.

More than 79,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 5 Wednesday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar.

Players purchased more than 38 million tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

Wooohooooo.  Alright, now that I've gotten that out. I'm playing for the next drawing but know that I'm going to loose, I have this feeling.  But to help the schools with my money and too increase the jackpot, I'm going to play anyway.

Reverse psychology. Good thinking, but we're on to you. Good luck.
