Powerball Powerball: Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Indiana Again

People that say lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice haven't spent much time in Indiana. For the third time in the last four drawings, someone from Indiana has won the Powerball jackpot.

On Saturday, October 25, a $190.9 million jackpot was split between two tickets; one purchased in Indiana and one in Minnesota. Last Wednesday's $10 million Powerball jackpot was claimed by one winning ticket purchased in the Hoosier state.

Wednesday night's $12.8 million jackpot was the 31st Powerball jackpot win for Indiana. There have been a total of 176 jackpot winners in the history of Powerball.

The winning ticket holder for Wednesday night's draw now has a choice to make. They can take the $12.8 million annuity, which will be paid out in 30 payments over 29 years. Or, they can choose the cash option worth $6.7 million. The ticket holder will have 60 days after the ticket is validated to make that decision.

In addition to the jackpot winners, 281,033 other players across the nation won a total of almost $2.4 million in prizes in America's Game.

The numbers drawn were: 6, 20, 27, 38, 39 and the Powerball was 31. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

Two players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The tickets were sold in Pennsylvania and South Carolina. The winning players did not purchase the Power Play option. Had they spent an extra dollar they would have multiplied their prize by 5 for a total win of $500,000.

Twenty-one players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Three of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $25,000.

More than 39,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 5 Wednesday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot.

Players purchased almost 11 million tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

The jackpot for the Saturday, November 8 drawing will be $10 million with a $5.2 million cash option.

I hope Indiana continue to win, that where I get my PowerBall tickets when I play.  Maybe I'll be one of those big winners some day.  Until then I'll keep playing MegaMillions here in Ohio, it's time Ohio had a big winner in its game.

RJOH:

Your right about Ohio... I think it's time for a Virginia winner also. (wink)

May the warm winds of heaven blow softly upon your house. May  the Great Spirit bless all who enter there. May your mocassins make happy tracks in many snows. And may the rainbow always touch your shoulder.
