I was truly touched when I saw this story on the news. Jim's mom used to babysit me when I was little and Jim was ALWAYS absolutely devoted to his mom. He is an extremely humble and modest man of unshakable character. We should all be more like him.
I moved away from Cal Park 10 years ago on a quest to get out of that poverty stricken, crime ridden area. Because he was so quiet and kept to himself, very few knew of his plight and there are hundreds of people who would have helped him if we had only known of his struggles. Having said that it makes you think, the next time you see someone who looks unkept, or down and out, will you give a helping hand? Find out if there's something you can do to assist them. Even if you don't have much, you could be the one person who could make a major difference in their life.
"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."
Jim Gatzke deserves every penny he won! And he should do with it whatever he wishes. Nice things do happen to good people :)
God Bless You Jim
