The Florida Lotto Jackpot has rolled over seven times to an estimated $40 million.

The next Florida Lotto drawing is this Saturday, December 13, at 11 p.m. EST.  This series of rollovers began with the Wednesday, November 19 drawing, when the estimated Jackpot rolled from $3 million to $6 million.

The $40 million Florida Lotto jackpot is the 28th highest Jackpot in Florida Lotto history.

If a sole winner chooses to take the jackpot over 30 years, it would pay an estimated $1,333,333 per year for the 30 years.  If a sole winner chooses the Cash Option sole payment for the $40 million Jackpot, it would pay an estimated $21 million.

The highest Jackpot since Florida Lotto began in 1988 was $106.5 million on Sept. 15, 1990, won by six players.  The highest to date in 2003 was on July 26 when two players split an $80.94 million Jackpot.

Ticket sales for Saturday's drawing are expected to peak between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. EST Saturday, when Florida Lotto ticket sales are expected to reach a statewide average rate of 20,000 - 25,000 tickets per minute.  Ticket sales peaked at 14,000 per minute for this past Wednesday's drawing for the estimated $32 million Lotto Jackpot.

The Florida Lotto estimated $40 million Jackpot places it in the top four of the highest Lottery jackpots in the nation.

By the time of Saturday's drawing, Lottery players will have contributed approximately $27 million from this series of rollovers to Florida's schools.
