If any of you out there were familiar with the whole story, you know he didn't need to win the lottery in the first place. (He was already a multi-millionaire construction Mogul). So he
's doing the Percy Ross thing and giving all away. (Hmmm how do any of us get in on that). Two other amusing sidelights: 1. He tried to give a lot of money to his church (I can't remember the Denominattion, I think it was AOG; but anyway, a very fundamentalist conservative one which is very Anti-gambling. The main churches in California turned him down, and gave him a lot of greif. 2. And the best one is that he actually sort of got robbed, actually claims he lost about $150,000 that he was carrying around in a breif case to a strip club where he was out drinking one night (a few months ago). Since the one one year anniversary has passed, Old jack still makes the news. does that much money turn people nuts? Another case in point.
for a good read, look up (now I can't remember his name) about the fellow who won a huge sum of money on the Game Show "Press Your Luck" back around 1987 or so. He turned out to be a nut case also. I can't remember his last name, it was something comm on. He went by Michael. Game show net work is a good place to start. The TV guide article at the time explained it all, as well as an unlisted documentary on GSN-TV.
