Vermont LotteryVermont Lottery: $3.4 Million Vermont Megabucks Winner for New Year's Eve

Single Winning Ticket Sold at Vergennes Variety

The holder of the single winning Tri-State Megabucks ticket for the New Year's Eve drawing will be starting 2004 with a lot more than just a few New Year's resolutions.

There was one winning Tri-State Megabucks ticket for the drawing held on December 31, 2003.  That single ticket is worth an estimated, annuitized $3.4 million dollars.

The winning ticket was sold at Vergennes Variety in Vergennes, Vermont at 1:37 PM on December 29, 2003.  The winning numbers were:  02-04-13-21-23-39 Bonus Number 24.

According to Frank Trombley, owner of Vergennes Variety, no one has come forward yet with the winning ticket.  "I'm excited that we sold the winning ticket.  It's a great way to start the New Year," he said.

Vergennes Variety will receive a $30,000 agent bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Vermont Lottery Executive Director Alan Yandow exclaims, "It's always great when we get a Vermont Megabucks winner!  Someone out there will have a lot more to celebrate than just the New Year."

Vermont Lottery representatives anxiously await contact from the lucky ticket holder.  Anyone who purchased a Tri-State Megabucks ticket at Vergennes Variety for last night's drawing should check the ticket immediately.  The Lottery office is closed January 1, but will be open on Friday, January 2 from 7:45 PM to 4:30 PM.

Tri-State Megabucks drawings are held each Wednesday and Saturday evening at 7:59 PM (EST).  The odds of winning the Tri-State Megabucks jackpot are 1: 5.2 million.
