There is NO question but that the previous felon Battle is lying.  The real winner Jemison has now turned in as proof previous weeks tickets with the exact same numbers on them as her winning ticket, as well as another losing ticket that was bought and stamped at the exact same time as the winning ticket was purchased by Jemison.  If Jemison didn't buy the ticket how is it she has a ticket with the exact same time and date on it as the winner?  Did Battle lose 2 tickets at the same time that Jemison found? And what about Jemison possessing old tickets with the same 6 numbers on them? What are the odds on that? It would be quite a coincident that the past "felon" Battle purchased the winning ticket just seconds before Jamison (by the time on Jemisons other ticket, Battle would have had to be in line just before her), and then Battle would have had to chose the exact same number as Jamison had played just the week before. Finally that Jamison came out of the store just seconds after Battle dropped her purse, and aided Battle in picking up the stuff, and Jemison found the ticket that happened to have her last weeks numbers on it.

Facts are facts, and this proof, (past tickets with the same numbers, and another ticket bought at the same time as the winner with time and date stamped on it matching the winning ticket), is enough to convict Mother Theresa, and Battle is NO Mother Theresa!  The right person, Jemison, is getting the money, should not have to pay Battle a cent, and should live happily ever after.

Now some say Why would Battle make up such a story? Give me a break!  Why would Battle do it?  Cause Battle has no brains, and it never dawned on Battle that Jemison would be able to provide proof of ownership, namely other tickets stamped with the same time as the winner and  past void tickets with the same 6 numbers on them.  Battle only thought she could tie up the money long enough to get a payoff. Now that she has been caught with her finter in the cookie jar, she has to contine the lie, or go to jail. The lawyer was only hired by her to 1. get her a bigger payoff, and 2. keep her out of jail. I hope she goes to jail for the maximum. This is NOT a mistake, its a deliberate fraud.  Her jail time will deter anyone else from trying this in the future, and the public deserves this protection if the Lottery is going to continue.

By the way the real criminal in this case is the lawyer who took Battle's case in the face of the undisputable evidence presented by Jemison. That lawyer was only out for the press and his share of any "settlement" that might be paid by Jemison to make all this go away.  He needs to be put in the cell right next to Battle. They deserve each other.

Headlines just said she admitted lying.  Probably the first time in her life she ever told the truth.

Good wakeup call for all of us to simply be more careful in handling our (hopefully!!) winning tickets.  Good luck everyone!
