Wayde Christophel will soon be smiling all the way to the bank.

Christophel, a Waynesboro resident who owns The Waynesboro News Agency on West Main Street with his wife Kim, won the $259,000 jackpot in Friday night's Cash 5 drawing of the Pennsylvania Lottery.

He's not a complete stranger to lottery luck, though. Six years ago, he won $5,000 in the former Saturday Night Spin game.

Christophel said he plans to file a claim at lottery headquarters today in Harrisburg, so he was unable to provide details about how much money he'll receive once taxes have been figured.

"We'll probably save the majority of it," Christophel said of the winnings. "We'll probably get caught up with some bills, too."

Christophel also plans to save money for sons Tyler and Jordan for college and other expenses.

He said he has no plans to retire early or sell the business.

Christophel said he plays the Cash 5 lottery daily and usually plays the same numbers. He said they're simply a combination of random numbers he's used over the years.
