Tampa, Florida Police are looking for a man and woman involved in scamming an elderly woman out of $10,000 by convincing her they held a winning lottery ticket.

About 10 a.m. Tuesday, the female scam artist walked up to the 70-year-old victim in a Kash n' Karry parking lot at 2525 N. Dale Mabry Highway, police said. She asked whether there was a church nearby because she needed help. The man walked up and told the victim the woman really needed a lawyer to help her with her lottery winnings.

The pair convinced the victim she would receive part of the lottery winnings if she could match money put forward by the man. She withdrew $10,000 and put it in a bag with money the man had. Police said the man and woman then switched the bag with one filled with newspaper.

The man and woman left with the cash, police said.

How do these scammers find these old people with $10K to give to someone?  Do they wear a sign "I old, I got $10K I can get my hands on fast, just ask me".
