Ten Officers Buy 1,000 Tickets

Winchester, Massachusetts police officers are trying to get to the bottom of a $290 million mystery.

Ten officers are chipping in $100 each to buy a total of 1,000 tickets for Friday's Mega Millions lottery drawing.

The jackpot, which is the biggest one of the year, would give each of the officers $29 million before taxes.

Officer Daniel O'Connell said he has plans for his winnings. He wants to buy new homes in Massachusetts and in Florida, and a boat to travel between them.

At least these guys were in the State where the winner was sold.  Maybe they are the winner, if not, they may feel foolish if the winner bought 1-5 tickets for the first time in his/her life.
