Oregon LotteryOregon Lottery: Man wins Oregon lottery game

What would you do with an extra $1,000 a week?

That's a question one lucky Vancouver man can now happily answer.

David Bartkowski, 46, is the latest winner in Oregon Lottery's "Win for Life" contest.

The game awards $1,000 a week for the rest of the winner's life if their ticket has the correct matching numbers drawn in the online game.

Bartkowski, a truck mechanic, said he hasn't given much thought to how he will spend the money, only that he will step back and ponder the possibilities before making a decision.

"I'll have a little more money in the bank now," he said.

Bartkowski's winning ticket was chosen Aug. 25 and he claimed his prize two days later.

Participants can win amounts ranging from $2 to the $1,000 a week for life in the contest. Drawings are held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday each week.

There were 3,348 winning tickets for the Aug. 25 drawing, but Bartkowski was the only ticket with the winning numbers 30-58-67-70 for the big prize.

Bartkowski is the eighth person to win the $1,000-a-week-for-life contest but he's not the first from Washington.

Jane Tofell of Vancouver took the top prize in the Oregon lottery game May 14, 2002.

Only 8 winners ever in this game? How long has it been around for? Seems pretty pathetic for a ame with odds that arent in the stratosphere.
