The owner of a winning Mega Millions lottery ticket claimed a multimillion-dollar prize Friday, ending two weeks of uncertainty.

The identity of the winner, however, remains a mystery.

Lottery officials announced Aug. 20 that the winning ticket for a $52 million jackpot was sold at a Shaker Heights store.  Lawyer Dennis Siciliano claimed the treasure as trustee for the ABC Blind Trust.  But Siciliano's client the real winner has not been identified.  Siciliano could not be reached for comment.

Mardele Cohen, spokeswoman for the Ohio Lottery Commission, said in a written statement that the trust would receive a lump-sum payment of a little over $30.5 million, before taxes.  The after-tax payout will amount to about $21.8 million.

Shaker Quality Foods receives a $52,000 bonus for selling the winning Mega Millions ticket.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions are 1 in 135 million, Cohen said.

This is the way to go contact a good lawyer open a living trust and then step back out of the limelight

    I wonder if using a blind trust to collect the winnings effects the amount of city taxes paid.  My city doesn't collect taxes on lottery winnings, dividends and pensions.

      nope.  if the city has files the appropriate paperwork, then they will get the money.

      I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

          Do any other states have so many cities taxing lottery winnings? NYC residents pay city tax on        lottery prizes.

            I am happy that another Ohio resident has won.  I hope that I will be the next one.  I believe a trust is the way to go and would like to know how to contact the TRUSTWORTHY attorney to  learn how to go about it.
