Before the Bush cuts Michigan was getting back 70 to 75 cents of every dollar it sent in to the feds and after the cuts that changed to 90 to 95 cents!! Guess what? If you don't send it in you don't have to worry about getting it back!

It's a sad shame that people are buying into Hillary Clinton's statement that she would NOT be raising taxes, but returning them to the "Pre-Bush" level. But then again, the biggest whiners are those who don't even pay income tax. Just goes to show that the squeeky wheel does get the grease as the rest of us are trampled upon in our silence.

The tax cuts were a good idea, but they should have been accompanied by less spending. I don't think the rebates will help the ailing economy too much, but it is welcome to get some of our taxes returned. The key issue is the spending spree that Congress has been engaging in. We can't have it both ways.

@jarasan: I wish everyone had the same common-sense approach that you do. Unfortunately, I think there are many who seem incapable of the independent thought necessary come to the same conclusion as you. When all the Democrats leaders say, "Roll back the Bush tax cuts!" there are many people who will immediately (and irrevocably) think to themselves, "We've got to roll back the Bush tax cuts!" Fortunately, the mainstream media is becoming less and less influencial, this is clearly evidenced by the ratings and the level of shrillness emanating from those outlets. I don't think many people will be returning their checks or complaining IMHO. And once the numbers are made clear, people will realize those tax rates are good for everybody. Thanks.
