How is he playing the race card. That card was played years ago. Yes he is a strong and confident black man. And this white racist world can't deal with it. Jxp - The point was keeping our streets safer FIRST on a deeper level. They will be safer in a good economy because people won't have to result to crime to just survive. Granted that there will always be criminals but it's fact that when the economy is bad there is much more crime.

@JE: It is illegal for the military to operate within the USA borders. The National Guard does that. A lot of people think we *should* deploy the National Guard for stuff like that -- and on the border (which they did a great job of helping to clean up).

@f4me: Viet Nam is nothing like Iraq, as much as liberals in the media would like us all to think. They are not even close. It seems to escape the media's notice, but we are *winning* the war in Iraq. the insurgents are mostly wiped out and/or disbanded, with scattered violence here and there. You know what is ironic about Barry and his ilk? He is half black and half white, and I think it's totally unfair that the white half is being dismissed, I call foul. It just goes to show what a charade and circus this whole thing is, Sharpton and Jesse J. were talking about this a year ago. Todd i don't know if what you said is a good thing or bad. In Vietnam we fought an enemy that for all intensive purposes we couldn't see we had severe problems with the m 16 we used left over equipment from the previous wars. Ask any vet who served there and saw battle they fought against an enemy who had 30 years previous jungle warfare experience and were never defeated. Jimmy Carter was the cuddly blanket America needed after the reaming we got from Johnson, Nixon and Ford. We were no more prepared to fight in Vietnam than we are in Iraq. There have been 5 republican presidents since 1969. Reagan being the best of them at diplomacy and the endeavor to balance the budget. @f4m: I hear a lot of people saying that same thing, but there is really no comparison. If Obama is elected it will be the return of Jimmy Carter. If McCain is elected, the majority of decisions will probably make sense, and some things will be maddening. Obama will be something that the country will have to recover from over a period of 10 years (if we're lucky), but McCain will likely keep us moving in generally the right direction.

I'm getting really sick of Obama injecting race into the campaign. Same OLD politics.

Obama goes around saying that he is "different".

Obviously he is NOT different, because he is just like every other politician who tries to pit race against race, male against female, rich against poor, etc., etc., etc.

This is one sick and tired voter.
