      <description><![CDATA[WHO is being racist?  The only person injecting race into the race is Obama.  He keeps going on about how "Republicans are going to scare you about how I'm black".

Would you care to tell me one single Republican who did that?

No one has, but he's going to carry on as if they did, because he thinks that injecting race issues into a compaign -- where none exist -- will make people like you angry enough to vote for him.

      <description><![CDATA[@f4me: Viet Nam is nothing like Iraq, as much as liberals in the media would like us all to think.  They are not even close.

It seems to escape the media's notice, but we are *winning* the war in Iraq.  the insurgents are mostly wiped out and/or disbanded, with scattered violence here and there.  Statistically, it is safer to walk the streets of Bagdad than it is to walk the streets of L.A.

      <description><![CDATA[You know what is ironic about Barry and his ilk?  He is half black and half white, and I think it's totally unfair that the white half is being dismissed, I call foul.  It just goes to show what a charade and circus this whole thing is,  Sharpton and Jesse J. were talking about this a year ago.&nbsp; &nbsp;Barry should emphasize his choclate/vanilla flavor to unify instead of fudging up the race card and alienating the pale faces.

In Vietnam we fought an enemy that for all intensive purposes we couldn't see we had severe problems with the m 16 we used left over equipment from the previous wars. Ask any vet who served there and saw battle they fought against an enemy who had 30 years previous jungle warfare experience and were never defeated.       <description><![CDATA[Jimmy Carter was the cuddly blanket America needed after the reaming we got from Johnson, Nixon and Ford. 
We were no more prepared to fight in Vietnam than we are in Iraq. 

There have been 5 republican presidents since 1969. Reagan being the best of them at diplomacy and the endeavor to balance the budget.       <description><![CDATA[@f4m: I hear a lot of people saying that same thing, but there is really no comparison.  If Obama is elected it will be the return of Jimmy Carter.  If McCain is elected, the majority of decisions will probably make sense, and some things will be maddening.  Obama will be something that the country will have to recover from over a period of 10 years (if we're lucky), but McCain will likely keep us moving in generally the right direction.]]></description>
