Instead of arguing about the current/past president or political party, why are we not discussing the root cause behind this tragic story, the war in Afghanistan. Every day lives are being lost and no one seems to care that the war was started based on lies. In fact the plans for the war in Afghan. were already in place before the first plane struck the tower. I do not hate Obama but I do hate what he stands for. I do hate his "vision" for this country. My misery comes from those who refuse to see what he is doing. I firmly believe in the individual and the power of the masses. 350 million Americans working to solve a problem will do a much better job of finding a solution than two or three "czars" with a political agends. To be completely focused and consumed with hatred for the president must be miserable. I disliked Bush very much but never to the level where I let hatred consume me with his every move and spit on him everyday.

jarasan I wasn't there and neither were you i suspect. The President was at the Closing of the Tribal Nations Conference. When he interrupted his speech to tell the crowd about the tragedy it wasn't a conference about the tragedy.

I signed onto Lottery Post to post something really funny about getting old. I had nothing political in mind, because it was just a lot of silly stuff like

"You know you're getting old when you sit in your rocking chair and can't get it started."

I had a long list and wanted to share it.

However, the first blog subject I saw was very disturbing to me, because it's just not true. It is spreading the venom & hatred the extremists are spewing by the minute, saying that Obama was insensitive to the shootings at Fort Hood.

I watched the President on television after the shootings, well before there were any reports about his comments. I'm home almost 24/7 because I need surgery on my foot and it's difficult to walk. I remember very clearly what he said. Here is an excerpt from his speech. He is also attending a memorial service for the victims of the massacre at Fort Hood.

“As some of you might have heard, there has been a tragic shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas. We don’t yet know all the details at this moment; we will share them as we get them. What we do know is that a number of American soldiers have been killed, and even more have been wounded in a horrific outburst of violence.

“My immediate thoughts and prayers are with the wounded and with the families of the fallen, and with those who live and serve at Fort Hood. These are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk and at times give their lives to protect the rest of us on a daily basis. It’s difficult enough when we lose these brave Americans in battles overseas. It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil.

“I've spoken to Secretary Gates and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, and I will continue to receive a constant stream of updates as new information comes in.
