I agree, I was going to say as much here about that a couple days ago but I changed my mind. It's like the winner in Illinois minus the actually doing something with the time in at least putting effort in hiding her/his identity. It's seems like things could be done a lot faster than that, even if you want to protect your identity which this guy didn't seem to even bother doing. I don't see how claiming it sooner would have prevented him from completing his previous obligations. Maybe Louisiana

I saw that car a coupld months ago, I'd be interested in it but I'd prefer to wait until the next version comes out (not like you'd have much choices considering the waiting list) and hopefully improve upon the technology, especially when it comes to battery life and weight. I think first though I'd buy a hybrid that was assembled in the USA.

Don't count on pari-mutuel payouts for Daily Number. It is very uncommon for states to do that, and with all the people who have played that game for so long, any change like that will really get some backlash.

I also agree that Rebecca probably remains stead fast in her decision to switch drawing types. I agree with you, however it isn't my money to spend. Since I'm the one who deleted the rope comment, I made my opinion clear that it coudl be interpreted in the wrong way. But, I do not believe it was intended in that way, I think it was a poor choice of words.

My previous comment in this thread was not directed at the now-missing rope comment, it was directed at the Chlorine in the gene pool comment, which at least one person mis-interpreted as racist. It is a common phrase, and not racist at all.

I must say you are doing it right...for a lottery pool that is. But it all seems like too much work to me. Those ladies might love their jobs. However, if it were I winning, I would give my employer...dust! No way, life is too short to be working until you drop dead. On the other hand, those winners have more options than most: they can quit anyday and at anytime.

Perhaps, another option for the ladies would be to open a business (you will not have to work for others), volunteer their time helping others, enrolling in college full-time -- if they do not have a degree, or auditing courses for fun

I do agree that winning a million dollars doesn't automatically make a person a millionaire. It really depends on what the winner's net worth is at the time. After taxes the prize isn't even close to a million, but many people either have equity in a house or own a car, have a 401K, etc.

People do not deserve what they get if they do not know how much they won.

See that is kind of why I wouldn't waste putting an extra dollar or two on one line. The odds are against me winning a jackpot in the first place and I would rather use the money to buy more lines. I admit however, that I do use the Powerplay every now and then, but more often then not, I would rather buy and extra line then put another dollar on the same line.

Were I to win that $220m, I definitely would ask for cash, not an annuity. That's 50% gone right there. IMO a person who wins a $1M lottery prize isn't really a millionaire as many of these $1M scratch games are annuitized amounts ($1M paid out over 10-20 years isn't the same as $1M in today's dollars), and in the cases where they are cash value, the winner has anywhere from 25 - 35% deducted for taxes. So it just irks me when all these different state lotteries make that claim in regards to their scratch-if games.
