I have done a few of those in the past, and some other generous members have even paid for membership prizes out of their own pockets and held some contests. The thing is that they can be very time-consuming and difficult to run, especially when you try to do it on a set schedule.

LP does have the predictions board -- hopefully you're using that to challenge yourself to get a high stats ranking. That's something that is always available, and runs like clockwork, day-in and day

The private message system and the forums use exactly the same text editor.

So if you're posting a message on the forums, but you can't send a private message, that means you have an old version of the text editor in your web browser, and clearing your cache will get rid of it.

The other thing people can do is to REFRESH THE PAGE by pressing Ctrl+F5 on your keyboard. That key combination works particularly well in all versions of IE.

As an ammendment to this idea, this doesn't have to just be spreadsheets, it could be any lottery tools created by our members here to help other members out with their games. As long as it is not copyrighted material, it could be stored and classified here where it could be downloaded by anyone at any time. Just an idea, don't know if it would be practical due to bandwidth or other obstacles though.

I agree. While not a necessity, this would have been a nice feature to have had when I was new to the site. Rather than going through each and every one of the hundreds of old systems threads looking for what I was looking for, I could have easily eliminated 3/4's of them instantly with this feature.

I think that you should have top 10,20 30 40 50 predictions for the month, because on your site of top predictions

there are people who prediction 10 and win 20 are call top prediction, and then you have people that predictions

everyday don't make the list because of precent. I suggest it should be money basic not precent.

There is currently one single sound effect on Lottery Post: When you click on a state in the Results map.

The problem is that to make sound in a web browser is difficult and not consistent between browsers. So in order to do it you have to resort to some complicated coding in Flash. (If you notice a web site with sounds, it is almost always a Flash-based site, at least partially.)

I feel that the bio/interest section on the profile section which is up to 500 characters is too short..Is like 2 paragraphs...Why not a complete page or at least 1,300 characters...

The best place to post that kind of thing would be your blog.

There have been lots of suggestions over the past several months for various non-lottery forums, and I think the best way to handle that is going to be by using Pumpi's suggestion of a blog forum (for lack of a a better phrase).

Actually, I beg to differ on this one. The Power Play does determine if you win or not. It determines if you win a larger prize or not. By your logic, a person winning a $20,000 Power Play prize is no different than a person winning a $50,000 Power Play prize; a difference of $30,000. Thanks Todd, that's the main thing I was referring to. Something like a special page we could go to that would show, based on the most recent days activity, the 1st 2nd and 3rd place winners based on prize/hit ratio's. Maybe something that would show them in Olympic-style format with Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophy cups or similar. One more thing that I just ran across........As it is currently, you can make predictions for each state individually, or for all states . What about the possibility of selecting multiple states selctively to post post numbers for. Yea I did a few of those, but when working with the bigger wheels it wasn't as efficient. for a 5if5 of 15 I would use a higher number (16+), but then the tickets aren't ordered all pretty since the 0 is replaced at the end of the line.

(Maybe it's an OCD thing, ha)

Great news Todd. I know this probably seems trivial, but I've noticed that several people use the same avatars to represent themselves (it's inevitable with this many members), but out of the several hundred or so avatars that we have, only a select handful are chosen by our members. I think we'd have a lot more individuals choosing unique avatars if we just had a larger selection of more up-to-date avatars capable of handling the web-sites new and improved capabilities. Well, we most certainly disagree on the definition of quality , judging from your abysmally low percentage of quality posts that you estimate. To each their own.

I'd recommend checking the Favorites saved by your favorite posters. That would be a good indicator of what that person feels is quality . (I tend to think of it as significant , rather than quality .)

If you have a method for picking numbers for one of the multi-states or big jackpot games that you would like to discuss just lay it out in a thread in the Lottery Systems forum and LP members who play those type games will probably respond.

If you are looking for suggestions on how to improve it, you may find others have tried something similar and made some changes that improved it or they just abandoned it after a while and went in a different direction.

When I'm doing lottery work on a results page or history page, ect... I get annoyed at the auto-refresh cycle which interrupts my work, not to mention my train of thought.

If there were a button to freeze the page and temporarily cancel the auto-refresh, I would use it every time.

Maybe it would work best if members could select that option to work globally through their Control Panel Board Settings page.

Maybe. It becomes an issue of performance at some point. The thing we can't have is a query running that is so complex that is impacts the performance of the site for everyone else. So it is something I cal mull and possibly test, but I don't have an answer. Thanks for the suggestion.

The custom lottery results page is what I want. However, I need to be able to sort the list by result so that I can see the trend for the night. Have you ever noticed that all the lotteries coming out for a certain night will be within a given range? If I can isolate the pattern (and there is one) then I can figure out what the first number of the draw will be. Or at least give me an advantage play by giving me a range to stick in. Is it possible to add another tab for predicting just two numbers. One for a no match 321 and one for double digit 223. Many of the predictors give TOO many numbers. It's too costly if you are playing with a limited budget. This way we can know who really has the gift of selecting number. The tab also could include all States or a speciifc state. Can you also include outside countries like China? I really want to know if given only two numbers who picks the most right.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll try to work it in when I revamp the predictions posting page. In the meantime, RJOh has a good suggestion: save your picks using Notepad, or Excel, or Word (or anything else) and paste them in. It should save a little time.

Yes, you're right, there are a few other graphs that would be interesting. A raw dollars per day graph might not be illuminating though, because it would not show how much someone spent to get the dollars. Maybe a prize ratio graph would be better. Do you think? Hit ratio too.

That's a good point. It would be useful to hare something automatically break apart the numbers. I will keep that in mind.

In the meantime, Excel is a great tool for breaking apart numbers. Copy and paste the block of numbers and then do a text to columns command.

Yes, that is one of the options I have planned. I know there is some frustration about some limitations on posting predictions, which makes it take a little longer than it should to post. The best way to report abusive posts is by clicking the Report Abuse link directly on the post in question, which automatically sends me all the pertinent information, such as username and a link to the post. If possible, I'd prefer to keep the Suggestions forum for just suggestions.

I have recommended LotteryPost to many people, and one person told me that the main web address doesn't work. It did work correctly for me and not for him which seemed odd to me.

After some investigation, I noticed that http://lotterypost.com redirects to http://www.usamega.com/

Of course http://www.lotterypost.com works correctly (which is what I have bookmarked). Usually when I verbally quote a site I will say "...go to abcd.com" and not say "www.abcd.com" and this person was not typing

The trouble is that three or four people will give me such a hard time when I delete offensive posts that it isn't worth it. If lots of people came to my defense it would be different, but they don't.

Would it be possible for you to allow posting picks for all states using an evening only option? that way you can post evening picks if you miss the cutoff for the mid-day (and reduce the amount of picks you make)

I suppose a mid-day / evening / or both would be best... because now If I am working on a pick but miss the mid-day cutoff, I have to go in and post to each state.

On a given day there are only about a dozen different topics that have activity in the Mystical forum. So if something is posted in the early morning, by late evening, it will have moved only a about dozen positions in the forum, still clearly visible, and definitely not buried because it is still on page 1 of the topic listing.

If you think the description for Mystical covers a lot, Pick 3 has it beat by a mile, and it is still one forum.

I have posted in the systems forum about the importance of gaps. LP has the capacity to do all I suggest already.

Basic Tool will

1. Take a list of numbers (as in the deflate and inspect tools)

2. Box the numbers

3. Produce list of numbers boxed and in asc/desc order.

4. Detect gaps in this new list: I suggest 1 integer and possibly 2 integer gaps.

e.g the numbers 8260, 4596, 4068, 1937 when boxed and arranged in order would be

Rick#2 you were a little hard on Rick#1. The ones you should be down on are the people asking Rick#1 to bring up the idea. If they were serious about a RNG for just a few select numbers, they would write those numbers on pieces of papers, put them in to sack, shake it and pick them out by hand.

Or they could do what I did and write their own.

And if they really got serious as I did, they would add features that could check the sums, gaps, number positions and etc. of each random combin... [ More ]
