I imagine there might be someone on LP that is trying to rub salt in the government's eyes , but I think the vast majority of lottery players are just trying to win some $. Correct, we don't have to buy scratchers, or any other lottery ticket. Yes, it is a form of taxation that whoever buys a lottery ticket of ANY kind, is voluntarily paying a tax.
