I suggested we buy the PowerPlay simply because I was scared to death we'd hit 5 numbers without having bought the PP, and I sure didnt want to disappoint those guys by telling them we won $200,000 when for one lousy dollar more we could of had $1,000,000.
Well 40 million is enough. But they aren't offering me 40 million, they are offering me a small chance at 40 million. So when the chance is that low, I'll take it when it's at least 250 million, since it's going to cost 2 dollars each time. That money adds up, but it adds up a lot slower if you play a lot less often. I usually prefer games like Cash 5 with smaller jackpots, but a much better chance at winning, but I still only play those when their above a certain point. Not that winning 50,000

Well I've come to the conclusion that I don't really hate it, and I'd actually like it if the Powerplay option multiplied the second tier prize more. I will probably still play a ticket when the Jackpot is high enough.

The main reason is that there are now two options, with essentially the same odds (of a JP win.) The Mega Millions is a dollar, or 2 dollars with a random multiplier. The Powerball is 2 dollars, or 3 dollars with a fixed multiplier. Personally, I think it'd be nice if MUSL...
As usual, you don't have a clue about odds. Your chances of getting the powerball right are currently 1 in 39, but despite your delusions about PB being two lotteries, everybody who plays a powerball also has to play 5 other numbers on their ticket. Some of those people will have chosen at least one of the five winning numbers that are drawn, which means that even though they have the right powerball it's impossible for them to have only the powerball right. It should be obvious that the odds of... [ More ]

As I said for years until I see proof that somone actually won I won't believe it. It is always fishy to me how bith PB and MM are won right before they break anymore records. I not 100% conivced they are scams or that they determine who wins, but seeing is believing and I have never seen #%$@ in real life that anyone has ever won. It is easier to match the red powerball number alone (more winners) and the prize is bumped up to $4 (price of two tickets). Second prize goes from $200,000 to $1 mil... When making a business decision, it is in one's best interest to ask the proper questions to get the real answers. No one likes to pay more for any product. Duh!
