That's the deal in most states. It's a bit different in Colorado, which have codes for all amounts, whether it can be cashed by a retailer or not.

Prize winning tickets $600 and over can have common non-winning three letter codes. The three letter coding is for ticket retailers (who cash in tickets $599 or less). I have seen big winners before (posted in one of the lottery offices) and one of them had the code NVW which is a common non-winning code for tickets.

an 8, egt i should of thought. One time i won $18 and tried to figure what what the letters stood for. It does make egt look like a huge prize.

yeah it sounds like a good winner because all the smaller prizes doesn't start with tgn. congrats on what ever prize it is

Hey Catsrule...

It is definitely a winner (2 symbols same game grid match) 2 wedding rings

I still have the prize covered up.

Too nervous to reveal it.

Trying to savor the moment....

Might be a rinky prize... But it is still a DEFINITE PRIZE.

What could letter coding TGE mean ?

I can't think of any numbers that sound like this..

except for TWO GRAND or TEN GRAND

I am holding a scratcher from Florida where I have 2 symbols (Rings) that are the same.

It's a five dollar ticket.

I am ON EDGE OF SUSPENSE cause the letter abreviations you see that kind of spell out the prize I do not recognize.

It is definitely a winner.

Letters are from top to bottom

T G E

I am on edge...

What could these TGE letters be abbreviated for ??????????

Example,

$2 is T. W. O

$30 is T.H.R.T.Y

$4 is F.O.R

FREE TICKET is T . I. C
