MUSL employee arrested in Hot Lotto jackpot mystery
Well I am pretty familiar with the ethics codes for attorneys and one cannot act in furtherance of a crime and if you suspect your client in committing a crime, you have an obligation to resign from the case. I find it difficult to believe the attorneys, since their conversations would have been privileged, did not ask who was the actual ticket holder. The lottery officials continued to press for questions to be answered and at that point, even a semi-intelligent person would have realized somet ...

Elderly Detroit man who recently won lottery missing
obviously met with foul play. you don't really think the police are actively looking for him. they are just sitting in their police lounge guffawing about this like they do with all crime victims. they could care less about an 86 year old body turning up in an alley. the policeman is not your friend as you were told as a child. they only care about their detail side money assignments not their assigned shift to protect the public.

Scamming store owner loses lottery license
as far as me judging people based on their own actions is concerned. I leave you with a famous quote: I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. -MLK Judging people based on their own actions is part of determining the content of their character. I don't buy into stereotypes. I treat people the same regardless of skin color and I don't read a news article about a crime that has been committed and then insinuate a perso ...

Florida Lottery winner outed as sexual predator
A criminal record or what crime you did has nothing to do with wining the lottery. While I would prefer rapists, child molesters, drug dealers and a whole bunch of other people did not win the lottery, that does not mean they don't have the right to win the lottery. If they paid the money and they are of legal age, then it is their money, end of story. If their victims want to sue them and it is within the law, then that is fine also, but it is their money, end of story.

Florida Lottery winner outed as sexual predator
450 pounds? A pound of flesh might have been a fitting price to pay. It's not fair to tag a person who has done their time for crimes they committed for life. But it is fair in a world where sex sells and is on people's minds a lot of the time to watch the sexual deviants for life. And before any- one cries, it's not his fault! It is, there are taboos. Anyone knows what's right and what's wrong. $3M will afford this man a lot of good things or bad things. If we see ...

Florida Lottery winner outed as sexual predator
While he committed a heinous crime, he did do the time. I'm not sure I want the lottery to be tacking on more penalties that a court didn't hand out. The lottery commission is not a judge or jury. If he bought a ticket, he has the same chance and right to win as anyone else. As far as civil suits from his victims, that's another story.

'Advance pay' after winning the jackpot?
It depends on which LP members you talk to. Some think it's a crime when a winner of $600 or more sells their ticket to a ten percentor apparently because the winner is avoiding child support payments, back taxes, or something else. Other members believe they should get a jackpot check anonymously no questions asked , while other members believe in doing both. In other words, they can't get out of paying child support, but should allow me to collect my winnings anonymously .
