Northstar fights to keep Illinois lottery documents secret
The business plan included Keno and here's the clincher, a request to revise the promised revenues downwards of over half a billion dollars FY14 to FY18. Which is probably why they don't want it public.

Did California lottery change their buying lottery schedule?
I don't know what the down times are for the calottery system, but Hot Spot (Keno) runs from 6:00AM-2:00AM. Individual stores can and do start later and end earlier. But I agree, not too wise to buy lottery tickets after midnight...

Wisconsin Lottery kicks off new '5 Card Cash'
Well, of course, comparing casino payouts to lottery payouts is no contest: casino beats the lottery payouts by a wide margin in every single game except for Keno, the worst game in the house.

Keno anyone?
Do you play Keno? Now if you want to play Keno you can sit down and watch them in the Store not all stores but some stores. I can even watch the Games on my Cellphone, just play my Keno numbers and go back and watch them later which is pretty cool. Just go to Ohio Lottery website click on Keno and watch the Game right on your cellphone or Computer anytime of the day..

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Lots of people play and win at Hot Spot, I was surprized at how many looking at the winners. But yeah, seems to be heavy asian player base.(I guess since that's where Keno came from...) Annual reports put Hot Spot sales around similar to Daily 3 and Fantasy 5, around $150M last year, or about 3.5% of revenue.

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Jon, I'd much rather California be like Nevada, where you can go to any casino or corner store and play nickel keno and video poker, rather than the lottery. Small, low-stakes gambling for many and if you win $20 (hopefully more) it's a good night. I was able to win $200 on a $0.25 Keno bet at an off-strip locals casino last year and only wished California offered the same type of bets with Hot Spot.

Did NH Lottery lose money in the last MM drawing?
They got around it with Hot Spot by floating a large reserve fund for the game. If you have a big enough reserve, you can support all the fixed prize liability. Technically they could do that with other games too, and technically that's what all lotteries with fixed prizes do in some form or another. But I think they didn't want to rock the boat with the legislators and watchdogs by doing it beyond Hot Spot to revive the Keno game.

Did NH Lottery lose money in the last MM drawing?
That's primarily the reason why almost every draw game we have is pari-mutuel. I can't remember how they got around the Hot Spot (Keno) payout because that's fixed now. If a California player matched 5 of 5 during the last MM draw he/she would have won $118,525. For us we try to match numbers in whatever game we play, and when we do, we wait with bated breath that we don't get screwed with the prize amount.
