N.D. lottery ticket sales, profits continue slide
Despite hefty increases in promotional spending, lottery ticket sales and profits have declined in North Dakota during the past two years and led to a large reduction in the lottery's financial reserves.

Connecticut lottery players' prize claim period cut in half
From now on, Connecticut Lottery winners will have six months less time to claim their prizes, in a change expected to reap $6.1 million in unclaimed prize money for the cash-starved state government during the first year.
Effective Aug. 2, the Connecticut Lottery Corp. adopted a prize redemption period of 180 days, discarding the longtime claim period of 365 days.

Arkansas Lottery picks Scientific Games for instant tickets
A Georgia lottery equipment company will supply scratch-off tickets to Arkansas' fledging lottery, an oversight panel decided Wednesday.
The Arkansas Lottery Commission awarded an instant ticket contract worth 1.75 percent of net ticket sales to Alpharetta, Ga.-based Scientific Games Corp. The deal is expected to be worth millions of dollars based on a $400 million annual sales estimate.

Scientific Games sued a second time by Gameologist
Gameologist, a New Jersey based and minority-owned small business, filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court against Scientific Games, for infringement of trademark. This is the second such lawsuit that Gameologist has filed against Scientific for its infringement on the BLING trademark.
