Sharing
Not only do I plan to share with immediate family members, but also with neice, nephews, adult stepchildren, adult stepgrandchildren, etc. About twenty of them. At my age, I'd be a fool not to. There is no way I would spend that amount of money in my lifetime even if I lived to 100. I just have no desire to live lavishly. Nicely, yes, but not lavishly. So it would be either leaving it to family or to charity. By arranging things in such a way as to avoid paying excess amounts in gift and estate ...

Lottery winner gets help on plan to turn good fortune into lifelong prosperity
Sounds like the guy is trying to be smart just has too many plans for only $5M. less tax deduction. If I win that much in California and don't move somewhere to Dakota or Wisconsin I probably will have to keep my job - after taxes and if I share a little to someone close and charities there would be only peanuts left over.

Sharing
I would share it with my Family and give some to Charity, and some to my favorite people. I would also invest it.

Lottery Changed My Life Marathon
I watched one show of that and it was enough in my book. Don't care to see all that overspending, self indulgence and waste,it's enough to make you sick to your stomach. Seems to me they focus on the toys and luxuries (which I guess a lot of people are impressed by or that they think people want to see). I would care to see more of what these folks do for others and charity instead of for themselves.

Lottery Changed My Life Marathon
Caught some of it last night. Couldn't really take lady that won $112,000,000 - thought she made a fool of herself giving $1m to a charity just to be on the Board with Steven Spielberg, etc. I guess that's what happens when you come into that kind of $$$$. She really went Hollywood.

$333 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased
Okay Illinois tax advisors let your voices be heard now! Which makes SOUND tax withdrawl sense ... if the 1 ticket holding, individual winner of tonight's MM jackpot decides to give 5% of cash lump-sum to 1 charity (tax exempt status), should that ticket holder make the charity a 5% interest holder on the claim form, OR simply donate 5% after entire after-tax sum is electronically transferred to winner's account? The proper order has stummped me for a couple of years!

$325 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot rolls again
Kash is King
Think of all the things you could do with that cash. Family medical trust. Family education trust. Even a charity foundation. Still plenty left for that nice home sitting high on the hill overlooking the lake, some travel, and quite a bit of self indulgence at the spa. sigh
