Would you check your numbers before you let a store clerk check for you
You can ask for a print out and check yourself. In georgia most of all the store put out the printout on the counter. The problem is most people trust the store clerk, and most don't read that store clerk and owner can be thiefs. Some are old and they don't believe that the places they have played at, were they talk to the people everyday would scam them. sign your ticket trust no one

I think I got ripped off
One word of advice: Never let a clerk throw your ticket in the garbage. Even if they tear it in half, demand it back. It's yours, you paid for it and it's the only way to prove they paid you the wrong amount. That's one of the scams some of the more unscrupulous clerks use to cash in on your ticket.

Wierd Question
C'mon joker17, give gobills a break. He already said, he just wants a losing ticket from a few states. I doubt very much, anyone would be able to scam someone with an already scratched, losing ticket.

Wierd Question
It's a scam, don't you see? He's gonna sell the losing tickets on the black market for twice the price. Don't fall for it folks.

Police arrest four in Chicago lottery ticket scam
Police arrested two men and two women earlier this week who allegedly ran a lottery ticket scam that targeted elderly Hispanic victims. The four worked as a team and typically sought out elderly Hispanic victims at stores and on the street, according to a release from the Chicago Police. The suspects would approach a victim two at a time and explain they were illegal immigrants and had a winning lottery ticket of more than one million dollars. They would then offer to share the winnings if ...

Victim of stolen Texas lottery ticket says he knows how to get money back
The story indicates the real winner will get $365,000 of his money. I wouldn't call that a destroyed life. Better than most scam victims recover.

Five-time lottery winner accused of taking ticket from group
An apologetic Koprnicky told the Sun last week he had made a mistake and assumed something, it just wasn't there. May if Koprnicky did some jail time, he might learn the seriousness of making a formal claim to the lottery commission that he as part of a group had an agreement to share the lottery winnings of someone who had never heard of him. He probably thought by including the group, members of the groups would back his scam for a share of the winnings even if it included lying in court. ...
