How does your state's lottery odds compare with other states? Are they fair?
Pennsylvania has very high lottery odds overall.
The Instant Games / Scratch-offs have high ticket prices and high odds.
It is not just the Instant Games, it's other games as well.
Some states seem to have better games, odds and prizes than others.
Single state lotteries have better odds than multiple state lotteries.
For example, single state lotteries may average odds of 18 million to 1.
Where as, multiple states lotteries may average odds of 120 million to 1.

Texas Lottery takes step toward selling Powerball
Lotto Texas can survive, Texas is certainly big enough to have enough people playing an in-state jackpot game. But they will have to make big changes. First, and most obviously, they would need to move the drawings to Monday and Thursday. Sure that's when Texas Two Step is played, but they could move that too, and it's enough of a niche game they could move it to one of the days MM or PB is drawn, if not expanding it to daily drawings. Second, and most importantly, they will need to lower the ma ...

The Lottery Changed My Life
Your odds are better than mine hitting the Mega Millions. I would drive to Mass. every week to play if I lived there.

Would You Spend $20 On A Raffle Ticket?
I always get at least one, usually more.
Yeah, the odds suck but the fact of the matter is every time they do one of these there are multiple instant new millionaires. And there's something about becoming a millionaire on New Year's eve that I really like. It could be you this time, or it could be me. Hey, it could be both of us!
Good luck.

States with Both PB and MM
I'm close to the border so I can buy both anyway.
I've cut back on them since they went to those rediculus odds...
I like MM better, but wish that they would raise their minimum prize to $3 instead of $2......
Their cash amount is better IMO...

Would You Spend $20 On A Raffle Ticket?
I'm with you,
There's no way I would spend $20 on a California raffle ticket. I noticed how alot of the other states have the large tickets with cool jackpots like win for life and half a million dollars and such with pretty decent odds. California seems to find more ways to sell a prettier ticket that will generate more money for them but not the players with better odds. I have purchased the $5 raffle ticket in the past but never again.
