Another day another mistake for the Tennessee Lottery
Can it be possible?
It appears that once again the Tennessee Lottery has made a mistake so glaring it requires them to pay out two sets of midday numbers.
The lottery spokepeople must be getting tired of the mistakes too, because they didn't even attempt an explanation this time.
A terse statement on the Tennessee Lottery web site Monday evening reads as follows:
The official midday Cash 3 and Cash 4 numbers for Sept. 17, 2007 are 133 for Cash 3 and 6121 for Cash 4. Players can clai ...

Mass. lottery players still waiting for delayed final drawing
Some Massachusetts Lottery players have given up hope that they'll ever cash in on a $10 million Hold 'em Poker scratch game the state launched more than two years ago.
State Lottery officials acknowledge that a few finalists have died waiting. But they say ticket sales have been slower than expected and it may be another year before the game sells out and prizes can be drawn in the championship round.
I'm really disgusted, Nicholas Zeogas told The Patriot Ledger of Quincy. He became the ...

Tenn. Lottery says duplicate numbers drawn were legit; can we be sure?
Strange drawing results come right after revelation of weeks of flawed drawings
The Tennessee Lottery's Cash 3 game had the exact same winning number in both the midday and evening drawings Thursday.
Kym Gerlock, vice president of communications for the Tennessee Lottery, said the reappearance of number 940 was random chance.
It was not an error. It's rare, but it does happen, Gerlock said. Each drawing is a totally separate instance and one is not related to another.
Gerlock sai ...

Players warned lottery about tickets flaw
Tennessee lottery players say they warned lottery officials more than 10 days ago that a new computerized system to pick random numbers in the Cash 3 and Cash 4 games appeared to be malfunctioning.
They say they were ignored for days while a computer software glitch kept duplicate numbers from being drawn in the games. That meant players who picked numbers like 6-6-9 in Cash 3 or 5-5-5-3 in Cash 4 had no chance of winning.
Lottery officials announced Tuesday that the glitch had been correc ...

Tennessee Lottery glitch shuts out players
Robert Johnson's lucky number is typically 909, but not this month.
The Nashville man has played the Tennessee Lottery's Cash 3 game twice a day, every day this month, and his numbers haven't come up.
Turns out, they couldn't have. A computer programming error has prevented any number from being selected more than once in Cash 3 and Cash 4 drawings over the past three weeks, the Tennessee Lottery said Tuesday.
The error meant that no winning draw included duplicate numerals, so any tic ...

Tennessee Lottery computerized drawings flawed since inception
Lottery throws all blame on a contractor; players bear the brunt
A month ago, Tennessee Lottery officials claimed the state's new computerized drawings would be exciting .
What Tennessee lottery players got instead were buggy, unfair drawings, in which almost half the numbers people picked had no chance whatsoever of winning.
The severely flawed drawings have been happening every day since computerized drawings replaced the lottery's real mechanical ball drawings more than three week ...

Glitch Delays Jersey Cash 5 Lottery Drawing
A mechanical glitch forced New Jersey Lottery officials to manually draw the winning numbers for the Jersey Cash 5 game on Friday night.
The machine containing those game balls jammed, so they followed the emergency procedures, which call for an off-air manual drawing that is observed by the independent auditor, New Jersey Lottery spokesman Dominick DeMarco said.
It was not immediately clear what caused the problem, or whether a similar machine problem had ever previously affected a New ...

Broken ball prompts 2nd Penn. Lottery drawing, 2 sets of winners
Lottery players in Pennsylvania got a second chance to win after officials discovered a ball used in the MATCH 6 lotto drawing had broken into pieces.
A second off-air drawing was held Tuesday night and the state said it would pay off winning tickets for both sets of numbers.
No one won the $550,000 jackpot. But more than 200,000 winners in the two drawings will get anywhere from $2 to $2,500, according to the lottery's online statistics.
The first total payout was $366,805; the second ...
