The Texas Lottery Commission took a step Tuesday toward expanding state gambling options to include Powerball, with a chance for the first ticket to be sold here Jan. 31.

The Arkansas Lottery Commission agreed Tuesday to sell Mega Millions tickets next year, making multi-state jackpots available to lottery participants four nights a week instead of two.

Idahoans may soon get the chance to play another multi-million dollar jackpot game.
The Idaho State Lottery Commission announced Tuesday that Mega Millions, the nation's other big jackpot, multi-state draw game could start selling tickets in Idaho early as Jan. 31, 2010.

Iowa joins multi-state Mega Millions lottery
Iowa Lottery players will soon be able to make their first drawing for Mega Millions, a popular multistate game that paid a record $390 million jackpot two years ago.
The Iowa Lottery Board voted unanimously Monday to join Mega Millions, which will give lottery players another opportunity to buy chances for a Powerball-style game, said Iowa Lottery Chief Executive Officer Terry Rich. S.C. Lottery board votes to add Mega Millions
The South Carolina Education Lottery Commission voted Tuesday to move forward with the proposal to add the Mega Millions game to the line-up of games currently offered for sale in the Palmetto State.
