Pundits who doubted the public's desire for $50 lottery tickets are silenced
Tickets to the Michigan Lottery's most expensive game sold out Wednesday after less than three days on sale.
The lottery's Super Raffle game includes 250,000 tickets sold at $50 each.
Tickets went on sale Monday. Winning tickets are scheduled to be drawn June 18.
Michigan Lottery commissioner Gary Peters said the public was responding to the game's relatively good odds, compared to other lottery games.

Georgia Trucker Claims Half of Record $390 Million Lottery Jackpot
A truck driver from northwest Georgia came forward Wednesday afternoon to claim half of the record $390 million Mega Millions jackpot, the richest lottery prize in U.S. history.
Ed Nabors of Rocky Face, about 90 miles north of Atlanta, was the first person to step forward and claim part of the jackpot from Tuesday night's drawing.

California system problem delays reporting of matching ticket data from that state
Ohio Lottery spokeswoman Mardele Cohen says New Jersey and Georgia told the state they sold one winning ticket each for the U.S. record $370 million jackpot.

Georgia Lottery sales hit record $1.56 billion
The Georgia Lottery Corp., which finances the HOPE Scholarship program, Thursday announced record sales for the first half of fiscal year 2007.
