Eighty-five Illinois Lottery winners last week probably thought they were lucky until they tried to cash in their winnings, that is.
Their checks, totaling $159,000 in lottery winnings, were no good.

Ireland TV network red-faced after huge lottery numbers blunder
Ireland's national television broadcaster is hoping the country's newest Lotto millionaire hasn't thrown away their winning ticket after watching the live drawing broadcast on Saturday night.
RTE was forced to rectify a huge mistake on air, after broadcasting the wrong numbers for two draws, including the main Lotto results.

Man to sue Austrian casino after $57 million jackpot denied
A gambler who thought he had won 37 million (US$57 million) on a slot machine has been offered a free meal and 60 (US$93) instead, after casino bosses said the jackpot was due to a software error .

Wrong ticket wins Georgia woman $25 million
It was a huge mistake, but one with a silver lining for a woman who says her winning $25 million lottery ticket wasn't the one she originally wanted.
Kathy Scruggs, 44, from Lithonia Georgia, says a store clerk mistakenly sold her a lottery ticket for a different game than the one requested.

Tri-State lottery players get extra chance to win Pick 4
Players of the Tri-State Pick 4 lottery had two chances to win this week when a ball left in the drawing machine led to two sets of winning numbers.
Lottery officials said they discovered that a ball was inadvertently left in the chute of the drawing machine before Tuesday's evening winning numbers were drawn, so the number wasn't included in the drawing.

Georgia Lottery players will have two chances to win with a bonus Cash 4 drawing scheduled for Friday, June 10. The bonus drawing will be held immediately following the regularly scheduled midday drawing at 12:29 p.m.
